Joy Michael
Joy Michael (1927-2018) was an Indian theatre personality and the co-founder of ''Yatrik'', a repertory company based in Delhi. The Government of India honored her in 2012, with the fourth highest civilian award of Padma Shri. Biography Joy Michael, born in Asansol West Bengal, secured a post graduate degree in English literature from the St. Stephen's College, Delhi where she became the secretary of the Shakespeare Society, reported to be the first woman secretary, and a member of the Supreme Council of the college. Later she went to London and did graduate studies in Speech and Drama at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and theatre training at the British Drama League. Padma Shri (IAST: ''padma śrī''), also spelled Padma Shree, is the fourth-highest civilian award of the Republic of India, after the Bharat Ratna, the Padma Vibhushan and the Padma Bhushan. The Indian honours system is the system of awards given to individuals for a variety of services to the Republic of India. The categories of awards are as follows: Civilian awards Bharat Ratna The Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award of India, was instituted in the year 1954. Any person without distinction of race, occupation, position, gender or religion is eligible for this award. It is awarded in recognition of exceptional service or performance of the highest order in any field of human endeavor. World Communion Of Reformed Churches
The World Communion of Reformed Churches (WCRC) is the largest association of Calvinist churches in the world. Church Of North India
The Church of North India (CNI) is the dominant united Protestant church in northern India. It was established on 29 November 1970 by bringing together the Protestant churches working in northern India. It is a province of the worldwide Anglican Communion and a member of the World Methodist Council and the World Communion of Reformed Churches. Panjab University (PU) is a collegiate public state university located in Chandigarh, Punjab. Funded through both State and Union governments, it is considered a state university. It traces its origins to the University of the Punjab in Lahore, which was founded in 1882. After the partition of India, the university was established on October 1, 1947, and called East Punjab University. Initially housed primarily at a cantonment in Solan, it later relocated to a newly built campus in Chandigarh, and was renamed Panjab University.
