''The Jai Bangla'' was a weekly newspaper published by the Bangladesh Awami League during the Bangladesh Liberation war from Mujibnagar. History The Jai Bangla newspaper was started after the start of the Bangladesh Liberation war on 25 March 1971. The first edition was published on 11 May 1971 and had the reciprocation of the independence of Bangladesh. It was published by the Bangladesh Awami League and supported by the Department of Publication, Information, Radio and Cinema of the Provisional Government of Bangladesh. The head of the department, Abdul Mannan, was responsible for the publication of the paper. He was also the chairman of the Board of Editors. The board included Asad Chowdhury, Abul Manzur, Anu Islam, Abdur Razzaque Chowdhury, Abdul Gaffar Chowdhury, Ibn Gholam Samad, and Zillur Rahman. Bangladesh Awami League
The Awami League, officially known as Bangladesh Awami League, is a major List of political parties in Bangladesh, political party in Bangladesh. The oldest existing political party in the country, the party played the leading role in achieving the independence of Bangladesh. It is one of the two dominant parties in the country, along with their traditional rival, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). Mujibnagar
Mujibnagar (), formerly known as Baidyanathtala (Boiddonathtola) and Bhoborpara, is a town in the Mujibnagar Upazila of Meherpur District in Khulna, Bangladesh. The Provisional Government of Bangladesh was formed on 10 April 1971, however, sworn in on 17 April 1971 in this place by the elected representatives of the Bengalees (mostly belongling to Awami League), that led the Bangladesh Liberation War, who were leading the guerrilla war for the independence of Bangladesh (then East Pakistan) from Pakistan in 1971. The place was renamed Mujibnagar by the proclamation of independence, in honour of then imprisoned Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who had declared Bangladesh independent. The Provisional Government of Bangladesh (), popularly known as the Mujibnagar Government (); also known as the Bangladeshi government-in-exile, was the first and founding government of Bangladesh that was established following the proclamation of independence of East Pakistan as Bangladesh on 10 April 1971. Abdul Mannan (politician, Born 1929)
Abdul Mannan (7 October 1929 – 5 April 2005) was a Bangladesh Awami League politician and the first Minister of Home Affairs of independent Bangladesh from April 1972 to March 1973. Early life He was born in Katuli, Tangail on 7 October 1929. In 1944 he graduated from Bindubasini Government Boys High School. He studied at Karatia Sadat College and graduated from Dhaka University in 1951. He was a professor in Ananda Mohan College and Haraganga College. His later worked as an income tax adviser. Asad Chowdhury (11 February 1943 – 5 October 2023) was a Bangladeshi poet, writer, translator, radio, television personality, journalist, and cultural activist. He was awarded the Ekushey Padak in 2013 and the Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1987. Abdul Gaffar Choudhury (12 December 1934 – 19 May 2022) was a Bangladeshi-born British writer, journalist, columnist, political analyst and poet. ''Anandabazar Patrika'' is an Indian Bengali-language daily newspaper owned by the ABP Group. Its main competitors are ''Bartaman'', '' Ei Samay'', ''Sangbad Pratidin'', " Aajkal", " Jago Bangla", " ganashakti" and " dainik Statesman".
