They Are Gutting a Body of Water (TAGABOW; stylized in all lowercase) is an American shoegaze band from Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The band was initially the solo project of songwriter and guitarist Douglas Dulgarian, but has expanded to a full lineup including bassist Emily Loftus, guitarist PJ Carroll, and drummer Ben Opatut. History Douglas Dulgarian (born 1990 or 1991) grew up in Middletown, Orange County, New York, Middletown, New York, where he formed the band Jouska. After Jouska released the album ''topiary'' in 2016, Dulgarian moved to Albany, New York, Albany and continued performing. In 2018, Jouska signed to the label Tiny Engines and released the EP ''From Elson To Emmett''; Dulgarian moved to Philadelphia around the same time. Tiny Engines is an American record label based in the Carolinas. Controversy In November 2019, Stevie Knipe of Adult Mom accused Tiny Engines of a breach of contract due to the delayed payment of $8,000 in royalties. Knipe claimed that Tiny Engines sent no royalty payments between 2015 and May 2018 to the band. Breakcore is a style and microgenre of electronic dance music that emerged from jungle, hardcore, and drum and bass in the mid-to-late 1990s. It is characterized by very complex and intricate breakbeats and a wide palette of sampling sources played at high tempos. South By Southwest
South by Southwest, abbreviated as SXSW and colloquially referred to as South By, is an annual conglomeration of parallel film, interactive media, and music festivals and conferences organized jointly that take place in mid-March in Austin, Texas, United States.
