José Sousa
José Carlos Leite de Sousa (born 9 October 1977) is a Portuguese retired footballer who played as a right back, and is a manager. He amassed Primeira Liga totals of 159 matches and four goals during ten seasons, representing mainly in the competition Belenenses (five years). Club career Born in São João da Madeira, Sousa started playing with local A.D. Sanjoanense. In 1993, he joined the youth ranks of S.L. Benfica, from where he was loaned to F.C. Alverca who acted as the farm team. After a successful debut season with the Ribatejo Province side, 20-year-old Sousa was recalled by Benfica manager Manuel José in August 1997, due to a good performance in a Segunda Liga match against F.C. Paços de Ferreira. São João Da Madeira
São João da Madeira (), is a city and a municipality in northwestern region of the Portuguese Norte region. It's part of the larger Porto Metropolitan Area, located 30 km from central Porto. Estádio José Alvalade was a multi-purpose stadium in Lisbon, Portugal. The stadium was able to hold 52,411 people. It was inaugurated on 10 June 1956. Home venue of Sporting CP for 47 years, it was mostly used for football matches, but also athletics. It was named after Sporting founder José Alfredo Holtreman Roquette, known as ''José Alvalade'' after his family. José Alvalade borrowed money from his grandfather, the Viscount of Alvalade, in order to fund Sporting. It was closed in 2003, when the new Estádio José Alvalade opened. In sport, a cap is a player's appearance in a game at international level. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of rugby football and association football. In the early days of football, the concept of each team wearing a set of matching shirts had not been universally adopted, so each side would distinguish itself from the other by wearing a specific sort of cap. An early illustration of the first international football match between Scotland and England in 1872 shows the Scottish players wearing cowls, and the English wearing a variety of school caps. Campeonato De Portugal (league)
The Campeonato de Portugal ( Portuguese for 'Championship of Portugal') is the fourth level of the Portuguese football league system. Together with the third-tier Liga 3, it is organized by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF). The Campeonato de Portugal was introduced in 2013 as the new third-level championship, under the name Campeonato Nacional de Seniores (Seniors National Championship), replacing both the Segunda Divisão and Terceira Divisão (former third and fourth divisions, respectively). It started 16 August 2003 with an opening game between Académica de Coimbra and Sporting Clube de Portugal, and ended on 9 May 2004. It was contested by 18 teams. ''Record'' is a Portuguese sports newspaper, founded in 1949 by Manuel Dias, published in Lisbon.
