José Padilla y Gálvez (October 30, 1888 – August 13, 1945) also known by his screen name, Mario de Córdova, was a Filipinos, Filipino lawyer, politician and movie actor. Early life José Padilla y Gálvez was born to parents Pedro Padilla Ortiz and Mónica Gálvez y Mariano on October 30, 1888, in Plaridel, Bulacan, Quingua (now Plaridel), Bulacan. Political career He served as a member of the House of Representatives of the Philippines, House of Representatives representing the Legislative districts of Bulacan#1907–1972, 1st district of Bulacan from 1919 to 1928 in the 5th Philippine Legislature, 5th, 6th Philippine Legislature, 6th and 7th Philippine Legislatures. Afterwards, he then became the Governor of Bulacan, Governor of Bulacan from 1928 to 1931, and again from 1934 to 1937. Consuelo "Ateng" Padilla Osorio (September 1, 1907 – January 1987) was an early female film director and screenwriter of Tagalog language films in the Philippines. Election to the Senate were held on November 11, 1941 in the Philippines. The Senate was re-instituted after amendments to the constitution restored the bicameral legislature last used in 1935. The elected senators would start to serve only in 1945 as they were not able to take office on December 30, 1941 as Imperial Japan invaded the country on December 8, 1941 at the onset of World War II.
