José Marte
José Manuel Marte (born June 14, 1996) is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher in the Los Angeles Angels organization. He made his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut for the Angels in 2021. Career San Francisco Giants Marte signed up with the San Francisco Giants as an international free agent in July 2015. He made his professional debut with the Dominican Summer League Giants, posting a 1.89 ERA in 5 games. Marte split the 2016 season between the rookie-level AZL Giants and the Low-A Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, accumulating a 2-5 record and 5.24 ERA in 15 games (14 of them starts). The following year, Marte played for the Single-A Augusta GreenJackets, pitching to a 7-7 record and 4.70 ERA in 25 starts. In 2019, Marte played for the High-A San Jose Giants, recording a 3-9 record and 5.59 ERA with 80 strikeouts in 74.0 innings across 18 games. The Eugene Emeralds (nicknamed the Ems) are a Minor League Baseball team in the northwest United States, based in Eugene, Oregon. The Emeralds are members of the Northwest League and are affiliated with the San Francisco Giants. Eugene plays their home games at PK Park. The Rocket City Trash Pandas are a Minor League Baseball team of the Southern League and the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels. They are located in Madison, Alabama, and play their home games at Toyota Field. History In November 2017, BallCorps LLC purchased the Southern League's Mobile BayBears from owners Michael Savit and HWS Group for the purpose of relocating the team to Madison, Alabama, in 2020. Upon relocation, the team was renamed the Rocket City Trash Pandas. The name is a reference to both the area's association with the space industry, namely from Huntsville, and the determination and ingenuity of raccoons (which are native to the Huntsville area; "trash panda" is a slang nickname for the animal due to their facial resemblance to the panda and their tendency to dig through trash).
