José Joaquín De Herrera
José Joaquín Antonio Florencio de Herrera y Ricardos (February 23, 1792 – February 10, 1854) was a Mexican statesman who served as president of Mexico three times (1844, 1844–1845 and 1848–1851), and as a general in the Mexican Army during the Mexican–American War of 1846–1848. He fought in the Mexican War of Independence initially remaining loyal to Spain, but he switched sides towards the end of the war to join the Plan of Iguala. During the First Mexican Republic, he served as Minister of War twice. Under the Centralist Republic of Mexico, he reached the position of president of the council of state, which led to him becoming president twice. When Santa Anna took power in 1844, he installed Valentin Canalizo as his puppet ruler, but as Canalizo was not present at the capital at that time, Herrera was made interim president while Canalizo arrived and only remained in power for ten days. José Concepción Herrera Ontiveros (April 8, 1942 – October 16, 2009) was a Venezuelan professional baseball player who appeared as an outfielder and second baseman in Major League Baseball for the Houston Astros (–) and Montreal Expos (–). José Oscar Herrera Corominas (born 17 June 1965 in Tala) is a Uruguayan former international footballer who played as a defender for various clubs. Club career Herrera started his playing career with Peñarol where he was part of two championship winning squads in (1985 & 1986) and a winner of the Copa Libertadores in 1987. In 1989, he joined Figueres of Spain, and in 1990 he joined Cagliari in Italy where he played over 100 games for the club. In 1995, he joined Atalanta and in 1996 he moved to Mexico to play for Cruz Azul. In 1997, he played for Newell's Old Boys of Argentina. Herrera returned to Uruguay later in his career where he played for Peñarol, Racing Club de Montevideo and Montevideo Wanderers. José Manuel Pérez Herrera (born 4 October 1978) is a Spanish football manager, currently in charge of Atlético Sanluqueño CF. Career Herrera was born in Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz, Andalusia, and played for hometown side Xerez CD as a youth before retiring. He began his managerial career with SD Mundo Nuevo at the age of 23, and went on to work at CF Rapid Ibiza, Nueva Jarilla AD and Liberación CF before joining Atlético Sanluqueño CF in 2011, as a manager of the ''Cadete'' squad. José Ramón Herrera Catalino (born August 30, 1972) is a Dominican former professional baseball outfielder. He played parts of two seasons in Major League Baseball for the Oakland Athletics (1995–96). He also played in the Korea Baseball Organization in 2001–02. In 2010, he played for the York Revolution of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball and in the minor leagues for the Toronto Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles. Career In 1993, Herrera was traded by the Toronto Blue Jays along with pitcher Steve Karsay to the Oakland Athletics for Major League Baseball's all-time stolen base leader, Rickey Henderson, who helped Toronto win the 1993 World Series. José Cruz Herrera (1 October 1890 – 11 August 1972) was a Spanish painter who concentrated principally on genre works and landscape art. He worked in Spain, Uruguay, Argentina, France and especially Morocco, where he lived for much of his life in Casablanca. Many of his works are displayed at the Museo Cruz Herrera in his home town of La Línea de la Concepción (Cádiz). Early years Cruz Herrera's grandparents originally lived in Cádiz, where they operated a lithographic press. Their skills were in demand in British-ruled Gibraltar, where snuff was manufactured and sold in envelopes. To meet the demand for printed envelopes and packaging labels, they moved their press to Gibraltar. They were unable to live there, as it required special permission, so they settled in the Spanish-ruled town of La Línea de la Concepción on the border with Gibraltar and walked across the frontier each day to operate their press. José Sabino Herrera Dagdug (born 21 June 1980) is a Mexican politician from the state of Tabasco. Previously affiliated with the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD), as a senator-elect for his home state he joined the ranks of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena) on 28 August 2024. Career Herrera Dagdug was born into a cattle-raising family in Huimanguillo, Tabasco, in 1980. He is a graduate in veterinary medicine. He served in the Congress of Tabasco from 2013 to 2015, and was municipal president of Huimanguillo in 2016–2018. José Gregorio Herrera (born February 24, 1997) is a Venezuelan professional baseball catcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2022.
