José Durán (boxer)
José Manuel Durán Pérez, popularly known as "Pepe Durán" (born October 9, 1945, in Madrid, Spain) is a former Spanish professional boxer. During his eleven-year professional career Duran held the Lineal and WBA light middleweight titles. He challenged for the WBC version of the title and held the EBU title. He also competed in the men's welterweight event at the 1968 Summer Olympics. Professional career Duran made his professional debut on November 30, 1967, in Barcelona, Spain. Duran made a victorious start to his career by scoring a knockout over Ben Hamida in the third round. After winning 22 consecutive bouts Duran suffered his first defeat, losing to Jean Josselin via an eight-round decision on June 22, 1970. Duran was able to avenge this defeat on May 21, 1971, once again the fight went the eight round distance although Duran won the decision on this occasion. Angel Robinson Garcia (May 9, 1937 – June 1, 2000) was a Cuban professional boxer, who was the Latin American Super-Featherweight champion. Bobby Arthur
Bobby Arthur (25 July 1947 – 27 July 2023) was a British boxer who was national welterweight champion between 1972 and 1973. Career From Coventry, Bobby Arthur had a successful amateur career, including representing England and winning a silver medal at welterweight at the 1966 British Empire and Commonwealth Games, in Kingston, Jamaica. He made his professional debut in March 1967 with a win over Pat Walsh. He won his first 14 fights, before suffering his first defeat in November 1969 to former British lightweight champion Maurice Cullen. He won only two of seven fights in 1970 but a win over Ernest Musso in May 1971 started a run of three wins which led to a fight against John H. Stracey in October 1972 for the vacant British welterweight title at the Royal Albert Hall. Jean Josselin
Jean Josselin (6 January 1940 – 7 February 2021) was a French welterweight boxer. He competed at the 1960 Olympics and won a bronze medal at the 1961 European Amateur Boxing Championships. After that he turned professional and won his first 19 bouts. On 25 April 1966 he won the European title, and later in 1966 unsuccessfully contested the WBA and WBC titles against Curtis Cokes. Miguel Ángel Castellini (26 January 1947 – 28 October 2020) was an Argentine professional boxer. Castellini, who was active as a professional from 1965 to 1980, is most notable for having held the WBA and lineal light middleweight titles from 1976 to 1977. He died from COVID-19 during the COVID-19 pandemic in Argentina. Professional career Castellini began his professional career on 28 May 1965, in San Miguel de Tucumán against Domingo Gerez. Castellini scored a second round knockout over Gerez to record his first win. He remained undefeated over his first thirteen fights before suffering his first loss to Hermogenes Quintela. Rocky Mattioli (born Rocco Mattioli, 20 September 1953) is an Italian-born Australian former boxer at junior middleweight, and former world champion. Rocky was the 2004 Inductee for the Australian National Boxing Hall of Fame Moderns category. Career Mattioli was born in Ripa Teatina, near Chieti, in Abruzzo in central Italy. He emigrated to Australia with his family at the age of six and lived in Morwell, Victoria. He turned professional in 1970 and started training with Italian trainer Arnold Rossi. In 1977, he captured the WBC Light Middleweight Title with a KO over Eckhard Dagge. He defended the title twice before losing it to Maurice Hope in 1979 by TKO.
