José De Jesús Rodríguez
José de Jesús Rodríguez Martínez (born 22 January 1981) is a Mexican professional golfer who currently plays on the Korn Ferry Tour. Rodríguez has previously played on the PGA Tour, PGA Tour Canada, PGA Tour Latinoamérica, and the Tour de las Américas. Background Rodríguez grew up in poverty in Irapuato, Mexico. He was one of seven siblings who slept shoulder-to-shoulder on the dirt floor of their one-room, bathroom-less adobe home. At the age of 12, he dropped out of school and began caddying full-time at Club de Golf Santa Margarita. That club is where he learned to golf. At the age of 15, Rodríguez crossed into the United States illegally by crossing the Rio Grande river. He worked in the U.S. for 10 years, mostly at a country club in Fayetteville, Arkansas as part of the maintenance crew. PGA Tour Latinoamérica
PGA Tour Latinoamérica was a third level professional golf tour formed in 2012 and operated by the PGA Tour. It was formed in concert with the now also defunct Tour de las Américas. Executives from the Tour de las Américas became employees of the new tour. PGA Tour Latinoamérica was one of a number of lower-tier tours that factored into the Official World Golf Ranking, previously awarding a minimum of six points to the winner and points to the top six plus ties. The top five in the tour's Order of Merit earned status to play on the Korn Ferry Tour, with the money leader being fully exempt. The Order of Merit winner also received the Roberto De Vicenzo Award, named after one of the first golf stars to come out of Latin America. Tour De Las Américas
The Tour de las Américas (TLA) was the principal men's professional golf tour throughout Latin America and the Caribbean from 2000 through to 2012 when it was superseded by the PGA Tour Latinoamérica. History Top level tournament golf in Latin America has had an unstable history. Some of the national open championships in the region are long established, but they did not traditionally form a coherent tour. From the late 1950s through to the mid 1970s the ''Caribbean Tour'', which was affiliated with the PGA Tour, comprised only a small number of tournaments but attracted entrants from leading European and American golfers. The 2024 PGA Tour Americas was the inaugural season of PGA Tour Americas, a third-tier tour operated and run by the PGA Tour. Wyndham Clark
Wyndham Robert Clark (born December 9, 1993) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. Clark had a breakout year in 2023; he won his first PGA Tour title at the Wells Fargo Championship in May and his first major championship at the 2023 U.S. Open the following month. Amateur career Clark attended Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, where he was two years ahead of future NFL player Christian McCaffrey. In high school, Clark twice won the Colorado state golf championship and was named player of the year in 2011. He initially enrolled at Oklahoma State in 2012, finishing in a tie for ninth place in stroke play at the 2013 U.S. Amateur. The Roberto De Vicenzo Punta del Este Open Copa NEC was a men's professional golf tournament. First held in 2005 as the Roberto De Vicenzo Classic, it is named after one of Argentina's most successful golfers, Roberto De Vicenzo. The tournament has been held at the San Eliseo Golf Club in Buenos Aires, Argentina until 2012, and moved to the Club de Golf del Uruguay in Montevideo, Uruguay. The Victoria Open is a golf tournament on the PGA Tour Americas. It was previously a stop on the PGA Tour Canada before its merger with the PGA Tour Latinoamérica. It was the longest running tour event on the Canadian Tour. It has been played at several different courses in the Victoria, British Columbia area, and at the Uplands Golf Club in Oak Bay since 2008. Puebla, officially the Free and Sovereign State of Puebla, is one of the 31 states that, along with Mexico City, comprise the Federal Entities of Mexico.
