José Bonifácio (CPTM)
José Bonifácio is a train station on CPTM Line 11-Coral, located in the district of José Bonifácio, East Side of São Paulo. The station also has an integrated urban bus terminal with lines that attend Areas 3 (yellow) and 4 (red). History José Bonifácio station originated in a controverse project for expansion of Metro East-West Line to Guaianazes, initiated in 1987. Although the studies of São Paulo Metropolitan Company didn't recommend the expansion of the line, Governor Quércia's administration started the construction anyway. A side platform (also known as a marginal platform or a single-face platform) is a railway platform, platform positioned to the side of one or more railway tracks or guideways at a railway station, tram stop, or bus rapid transit, transitway. Dom Bosco is a train station on CPTM Line 11–Coral, located in the city of São Paulo. It was named for its proximity to the acting area of Dom Bosco Social Work. History In mid-1987, São Paulo Metro hired a study for the expansion of East-West Line from Itaquera to Guaianazes. The study did not recommend the extension of the line due to the risk of collapse caused by overcrowding, but Quércia administration started the construction of the branch (called East Extension) in November1987. Guaianases is a train station on CPTM Line 11-Coral, located in the limits between Lajeado and Guaianases districts, both in the East Side São Paulo. History In 1987, Governor-elect Orestes Quércia orders to the São Paulo Metropolitan Company a study about the expansion of Metro East-West Line towards Guaianazes. The study results say that just a line expansion would cause its collapse because of overcrowding, indicating that the ideal solution would be revitalize the railway administrated by CBTU. Orestes Quércia () (18 August 1938 – 24 December 2010) was a Brazilian politician. He was the 28th governor of São Paulo State. Quércia moved with his family from Pedregulho to the city of Campinas, where he graduated in journalism. He was also a lawyer and an entrepreneur since 1962, with a diploma from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica.
