Joss Pass
Joss Pass, 1345 m (4413 ft), is a mountain pass in the central Monashee Mountains of the British Columbia Interior, Southern Interior of British Columbia, Canada. Located just south of the Three Valley Gap, British Columbia, Three Valley Gap area of Eagle Pass (British Columbia), Eagle Pass, which is the route of the Trans-Canada Highway and the mainline of the Canadian Pacific Railway. It forms the divide between the headwaters of the Shuswap River and those of its eventual tributary Wap Creek, which joins the Shuswap via Mabel Lake. It forms the prominence col for Tsuius Mountain, the highest mountain of the Sawtooth Range (British Columbia), Sawtooth Range, which is part of the Shuswap Highland. It is located just east of Joss Mountain, which is the northernmost peak of the Sawtooths. Mabel Lake
Mabel Lake is a lake located in southern Interior British Columbia, Canada, that is fed by and drained by the Shuswap River. It is located southeast of Shuswap Lake, northeast of Okanagan Lake, and west of the Monashee Mountains, and is popular for camping and fishing. The area around the lake is mountainous and sparsely populated. The lake is oriented roughly north to south, and is approximately 35 km long. The Shuswap River flows out of Sugar Lake into the southern end of Mabel Lake, and issues westward from the middle part of the lake into Mara Lake. Shuswap River
The basin of the Shuswap River (pronounced /ˈʃuːʃwɑːp/) lies northeast of the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, originating in the central Monashee Mountains. It is the upper part of the drainage better known to British Columbians as belonging to Shuswap Lake and the South Thompson River. The river's drainage basin is over in area. Geography The river is in three sections, an upper part beginning at Joss Pass, at the northern end of the Sawtooth Range of the Monashees and emptying into Sugar Lake southeast of the south end of that range.
