Joshua Yong
Joshua Yong (born 24 July 2001) is a Bruneian-born Australian swimmer. He competed in the mixed 4 × 100 metre medley relay at the 2024 Summer Olympics, where he won a bronze medal. Early life and education Yong was born in Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital city of Brunei, on 24 July 2001. Until the age of 11, he studied for most of his junior year in this small nation on the island of Borneo. He didn't get a chance to work harder on some sets until the school holidays arrived. On 2 October 2011, he competed in the Boys 10 & Under 100 LC Meter, Boys 10 & Under 100 LC Meter Backstroke, and Boys 10 & Under 100 LC Meter Freestyle events in the Brunei 100-meter sprint swimming championship on behalf of his school, Jerudong International School. He spent time in Melbourne throughout the summer, and later relocated to Perth in order to pursue his swimming career. 2023 Australian Swimming Championships
The 2023 Australian Swimming Championships are scheduled to be held from 17 to 20 April 2023 at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre in Gold Coast, Queensland. This event will double as the national selection trials for the 2023 World Para Swimming Championships to be held in Manchester in July. It will also form part of the selection process for the 2023 World Aquatics Championships and 2023 US TYR Pro Championships, however final team selections will not be announced until the 2023 Australian Swimming Trials in Melbourne, Victoria in June. There were no major withdrawals from the event with the exception of 2020 Olympian Chelsea Hodges who has required surgery to repair torn cartilage in her right hip. Kyle Chalmers
Kyle Chalmers, (born 25 June 1998) is an Australian competitive swimmer. He is a world record holder in the short course 100 metre freestyle, 4×100 metre medley relay, and long course 4×100 metre mixed freestyle relay. He is the Oceanian and Australian record holder in the short course 50 metre butterfly and 50 metre freestyle. At the 2014 Oceania Swimming Championships, Chalmers won the Oceania title in the 50 metre butterfly and 100 metre freestyle. He was the 2016 Olympic champion in Rio de Janeiro in the 100 metre freestyle, winning the gold medal in world junior record time. In 2018, he was Commonwealth Games champion in the 200 metre freestyle. Isaac Cooper
Isaac Cooper (born 7 January 2004) is an Australian swimmer. He competed in the men's 100 metre backstroke and in the heats of the 4x100 metre mixed medley relay at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Isaac competed in the 2022 FINA Short Course World Championships. He was denied a gold medal in the 50m backstroke event in bizarre circumstances after the final had to be re-run. Cooper's original swim had broken the World Junior Record (which he himself held from his swim in the semifinal) but it was discounted. He went on to achieve a World Record and Gold Medal in the Medley Relay, and also won gold in the 4x50m Freestyle Relay. Cooper holds the World Junior Record and Commonwealth Record in the Short Course 50m Backstroke, as well as the Australian Record in Long Course 50m Backstroke.
