Joshua Da Silva
Joshua Da Silva (born 19 June 1998) is a Trinidadian cricketer. He made his domestic debut in 2018 for Trinidad and Tobago, and his international debut for the West Indies cricket team in December 2020. Personal life Da Silva is of Portuguese descent, with his ancestors hailing from Madeira. Both his mother and paternal grandmother were Portuguese Canadians, while his father is a Trinidadian. He was educated at Saint Mary's College in Port of Spain. Domestic career Joshua started playing cricket while attending Saint Mary's College and has also played for QPCC (Queens Park Cricket Club). Perth Stadium, currently known as Optus Stadium for sponsorship reasons, is a multi-purpose stadium in Perth, Western Australia, located in the suburb of Burswood, Western Australia, Burswood. First-class Cricket
First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. The etymology of "first-class cricket" is unknown, but it was used loosely before it acquired official status in 1895, following a meeting of leading English clubs. The West Indies cricket team toured Bangladesh in January and February 2021 to play two Tests and three One Day International (ODI) matches. Geoff Greenidge
Geoffrey Alan Greenidge (born 26 May 1948) is a former West Indian cricketer who played in five Test matches from 1972 to 1973. His international career ended abruptly when he took part in a tour of Rhodesia, which was then under white minority rule. On his first-class debut in 1966–67, he scored 205 runs and took seven wickets in the first innings of the match. Greenidge was the last white player to play for West Indies, until Joshua Da Silva made his debut in 2020. Shane Omari Dowrich (born 30 October 1991) is a Barbadian international cricketer who plays as a wicket-keeper. He has featured for the West Indies, Barbados along with CPL teams St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and Barbados Tridents in his cricketing career. Dowrich is also the current captain of the Barbados' first class side. Twenty20 (T20) is a shortened game format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the county cricket, inter-county competition. In a Twenty20 game, the two teams have a single innings each, which is restricted to a maximum of 20 over (cricket), overs. Together with first-class cricket, first-class and List A cricket, Twenty20 is one of the three current forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as being at the highest international or domestic level. 2020 Caribbean Premier League
The 2020 Caribbean Premier League (CPLT20) or for sponsorship reasons, Hero CPL 2020 was the eighth season of the Caribbean Premier League, the domestic Twenty20 cricket league played in the West Indies. All matches were played in Trinidad and Tobago. The tournament started on 18 August and ended on 10 September 2020. On 10 July 2020, the local government gave its approval for the tournament to go ahead, with all the matches taking place at two venues behind closed doors.
