Joshna Chinappa
Joshna Chinappa (born 15 September 1986) is an Indian professional squash player. She reached a career-high world ranking of World No. 10 in July 2016. She was the first Indian to win the British Junior Squash Championship title in 2005 in the under-19 category and was also the youngest Indian women's national champion. She is the current record-holder of most national championship wins, with 18 titles. At the 2014 Commonwealth Games Joshna, along with Dipika Pallikal Karthik, won the squash women's doubles gold medal, India's first-ever Commonwealth Games medal in the sport. The pair won a silver medal at the event's 2018 Gold Coast edition, losing to team New Zealand, Joelle King and Amanda Landers-Murphy. Joshna trains at the Indian Squash Academy, Chennai. The South Asian Games (SAG or SA Games), formerly known as the South Asian Federation Games (SAFG or SAF Games), is a quadrennial multi-sport event held among the athletes from South Asia. The governing body of these games is South Asia Olympic Council (SAOC), formed in 1983. Indian Squash Academy (also known as ICL-TNSRA Squash Academy) is a squash training facility established by the Squash Racquets Federation of India (SRFI) in Chennai, India. The India Cements was one of the sponsors it had initially sponsored the 1990 facility along with the Tamil Nadu Squash Racquets Association (TNSRA). It has trained several squash players such as Saurav Ghosal, Joshna Chinapa, Dipika Pallikal and Manish Chotrani. History The academy was established as a joint venture between India Cements, SRFI, TNSRA and Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu in 2000. N. Joelle King (born 30 September 1988) is a professional squash player who represents New Zealand. She reached a career-high world ranking of World No. 4 in April 2014. Early life King was born and raised in Cambridge, New Zealand. She is the youngest child in her family, having two older brothers. Of Māori descent, she affiliates to Ngāti Porou. Career In July 2009, King won the Australian Women's Open by beating Annie Au in the final played at Clare, South Australia. King won one gold and one silver medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Dipika Pallikal Karthik
Dipika Pallikal Karthik (née Pallikal; born 21 September 1991) is an Indian professional squash player. She is the first Indian to break into the top 10 in the PSA Women's rankings. Dipika Pallikal came to prominence in 2011, when she won three WISPA tour titles. She broke into the top 10 in December 2012. Early life Dipika Pallikal was born in Kottayam into a Malayali Christian family. She is the daughter of Sanjiv and Susan Pallikal. Her mother played international cricket for the Indian women's team. Professional career Deepika turned professional in 2006, but her career was filled with ups and downs initially.
