Josh Robbins
Joshua W. Robbins (born January 12, 1983 in Jackson, Tennessee) is an American HIV/AIDS activist, blogger, talent agent, writer, and social media marketer. His work has been featured on '' The Advocate'', Human Rights Campaign, '' POZ'' and a myriad of additional publications. Robbins was named to the ''POZ'' 100 List in 2013. Advocacy Before his HIV diagnosis, Robbins was raising awareness about HIV in the LGBT community and fundraising for the AIDS service organization Nashville CARES. He was also a volunteer for the HVTN 505 clinical vaccine trial. He has been described as "one of a growing legion of bloggers who are breathing life into HIV activism". Robbins published a video on YouTube of being told of his HIV diagnosis in January 2012, after revealing his HIV status on Facebook. Jackson is a city in and the county seat of Madison County, Tennessee, United States. Located east of Memphis, it is a regional center of trade for West Tennessee. Its total population was 68,205 as of the 2020 United States census. HIV Vaccine Trials Network
The HIV Vaccine Trials Network (HVTN) is a non-profit organization which connects physicians and scientists with activists and community educators for the purpose of conducting clinical trials seeking a safe and effective HIV vaccine. Collaboratively, researchers and laypeople review potential vaccines for safety, immune response, and efficacy. The HVTN is a network for testing vaccines, and while its members may also work in vaccine development for other entities, the mission of the HVTN does not include vaccine design. The HVTN is the only HIV vaccine research network sponsored by the American government. It also manages the only large-scale HIV vaccine research trial network in Africa. The HVTN collaborates with the Division of Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (DAIDS). Bleeding Cool is an Internet news site, focusing on comics, television, film, board games, and video games. Owned by Avatar Press, it was launched by Rich Johnston on March 27, 2009. Avatar Press also publishes an associated magazine, ''Bleeding Cool''. Content Among Bleeding Cool's features are a power list detailing the most influential people in the comics industry. Andy Towle is an American writer, publisher, and media commentator based in Provincetown, Massachusetts. Background Towle holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees from Vassar College in Art History and English. He was awarded the 1989 W.K. Rose Fellowship in the Creative Arts from Vassar College, a Wallace Stegner graduate fellowship from 1989-1991 from Stanford University, and two writing fellowships, one in poetry and one in fiction, from the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Massachusetts. Product Hunt is an American website to share and discover new products. It was founded by Ryan Hoover in November 2013. Users submit products, which are listed in a linear format by day. The site includes a comments system and a voting system similar to Hacker News or Reddit. The products with the most votes rise to the top of each day's list. Products are organized into four categories; technology products ( web apps, mobile apps, hardware products, etc.), games (PC, web, mobile apps), books and podcasts. A submission simply requires a product title, URL, and tagline. As of 2016, according to Hoover, the website has led to the discovery of over 100 million products across 50,000 companies. HIV-positive people, seropositive people or people who live with HIV are people who have the human immunodeficiency virus HIV, the agent of the currently incurable disease AIDS.
