Joseph Lucchesi
Joseph George Lucchesi (''loo-kay-see''; born June 6, 1993) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the San Diego Padres and New York Mets. He made his MLB debut in 2018. Career Amateur career Lucchesi attended Newark Memorial High School in Newark, California, and played college baseball at Chabot College and Southeast Missouri State University. He was named the Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Year in 2015 and 2016. In 2016, his junior season, he had a 10–5 win–loss record with a 2.19 earned run average (ERA) in 17 games played (16 games started). In baseball statistics, earned run average (ERA) is the average of earned runs allowed by a pitcher per nine innings pitched (i.e. the traditional length of a game). It is determined by dividing the number of earned runs allowed by the number of innings pitched and multiplying by nine. Thus, a lower ERA is better. Austin Charles Bryan Hays (born July 5, 1995) is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball (MLB).
