Joseph Kishore
Joseph Kishore (born 1980) is an American activist and writer. He is the National Secretary of the Socialist Equality Party (SEP) and a writer for the World Socialist Web Site. Career In 2008, Kishore was first elected National Secretary of the SEP. and re-elected at SEP Congresses held in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2018. In 2020, Kishore was the presidential nominee of the SEP in 2020 United States presidential election. His running mate was Norissa Santa Cruz. He received only 350 votes nationally, making him one of the least successful candidates in that election. Works Kishore writes and comments on both American and international matters, as well as on science. He has written and commented extensively on US labor struggles, including the auto industry and public education, as well as the history of the socialist movement. The Socialist Equality Party (SEP) is a Trotskyist political party in the United States, one of several Socialist Equality parties around the world affiliated with the International Committee of the Fourth International (ICFI). The ICFI publishes daily news articles, perspectives and commentaries on the World Socialist Web Site and maintains Mehring Books as publishing house. The SEP was formed in 1995 by the Workers League, the US supporters of the ICFI. The Workers League had been founded in 1966 by the American Committee for the Fourth International (ACFI), headed by Tim Wohlforth, which emerged out of a split with the Socialist Workers Party, in opposition to the latter's support for Castroism. David North (socialist)
David North (born 1950) is an American Marxist theoretician. He is the national chairman of the Socialist Equality Party in the United States (SEP), formerly the Workers League. He served as the national secretary of the SEP until the party's congress in 2008. North was the principal political and theoretical leader of the International Committee of the Fourth International during the organization's split with the Workers Revolutionary Party in Britain. North is the chairman of the International Editorial Board of the World Socialist Web Site, an outlet of the ICFI. The author of several books and articles on the history of the Socialist movement, North lectures in politics and the history of Marxism. The World Socialist Web Site (WSWS) is the website of the International Committee of the Fourth International (ICFI). It describes itself as an "online newspaper of the international Trotskyist movement". The WSWS publishes articles and analysis of news and events from around the world, updated daily. The site also includes coverage of the history of working-class political and organized labor movements. About The WSWS was established on February 14, 1998.
