Joseph Kinsey Howard (February 28, 1906 – August 25, 1951) was an American journalist, historian, and writer. He wrote extensively about the history, culture, and economic circumstances of Montana. One of the state's most noted authors of nonfiction, Howard's landmark 1943 book, ''Montana: High, Wide, and Handsome'' is a respected account of Montana history that has influenced later generations of historians. Howard also authored numerous other historic and literary works, and was a vocal, articulate and persuasive advocate for a variety of social, economic and environmental reforms. These endeavors earned Howard the posthumous sobriquet, "Montana's Conscience." Howard believed Montana and the rural West provided the "last stand against urban technological tedium" for the individual. Paul Rudnick (born December 29, 1957) is an American writer. His plays have been produced both on and off Broadway and around the world. He is also known for having written the screenplays for several movies, including '' Sister Act'', '' Addams Family Values'', ''Jeffrey'', and ''In & Out''. Premise ''Mathnet'' is a pastiche of '' Dragnet'', in which the main characters are mathematicians who use their mathematical skills to solve various crimes and mysteries in the city, usually thefts, burglaries, frauds, and kidnappings. Joseph Howard, OBE (1862 – 20 May 1925) was Prime Minister of Malta from 1921 to 1923. Biography Howard was born in Valletta in 1862. He studied at the Lyceum and abroad, also serving at the French Military academy. Upon return to Malta, he had a career in business in the tobacco industry, up to being appointed director of Cousis Cigarettes. From 1914 to 1925 he served as consul of Japan in Malta and President of the Chamber of Commerce. He also chaired the ''Società dell'Arte, Manifattura e Commercio'' and ''La Società Filarmonica La Valette''. In 1912 Malta's ''Comitato Patriottico'' appointed him as member of the Council of Government. Joseph Howard (9 May 1834 – 2 March 1923) was an English barrister and Conservative politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1885 to 1906. Howard was born in Tottenham, the son of John Eliot Howard and Mary Crewdson and was a grandson of Luke Howard. His father was a chemist noted for pioneering work with quinine and a Quaker. Joseph Howard (March 14, 1800 – December 12, 1877) was an American lawyer and politician from Maine. Howard served as Justice of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court from October 23, 1848 to October 22, 1855. Born in Brownfield, Maine, Howard graduated from Bowdoin College in 1821 and read law to gain admission to the bar in 1824. He was a United States Attorney from 1837 to 1841. On October 23, 1848, Governor John W. Dana appointed Howard to a seat as an associate justice on the Maine Supreme Judicial Court vacated by the elevation of Ether Shepley to the position of chief justice. Howard served until his retirement on October 22, 1855. Joseph "Momo" Howard (born 22 May 1966 in Boston, Massachusetts) is an ice sledge hockey player from United States. Howard lost both of his legs at the age of 15. In 1982, he was introduced to ice sledge hockey, and competed in his first Winter Paralympics at the 1998. At those games, the USA came in seventh place but Howard set a record with six goals in one match. At the 2002 Winter Paralympics, Howard contributed with three points in a 5–1 defeat of Canada. In the gold medal game, After an overtime shootout victory, the Americans prevailed defeating defending champions Norway 4–3. Going undefeated (6-0), outscoring opponents 26–6 in the tournament. Joseph Howard (died 5 December 1797 in Berthierville) was born in England and came to Montreal in 1760. He became one of the first English merchants from Montreal to enter the fur trade, an enterprise controlled by the French from that city until the Seven Years' War.
