Joseph H. Conlin
Joseph H. Conlin (February 12, 1928 – March 5, 2007) was an American impresario and opera director.Born in Chicago, Conlin founded Conlin Associates, a New York based talent management agency which presented many important European artists via United States tours, including Beniamino Gigli, Jussi Björling, and Renata Tebaldi, as well as numerous American and international artists, including violinist Rony Rogoff, pianist Sylvia Zaremba, Sherill Milnes, Roberta Peters, Victoria Livengood, and the piano duo DeMaio and Silver. He also served as the General Director of the Palm Beach Opera during the 1980s. At the time of his death in West Palm Beach, Florida he was president of the Musicians' Club of New York and was still active as a concert presenter. An impresario (from Italian ''impresa'', 'an enterprise or undertaking') is a person who organizes and often finances concerts, Play (theatre), plays, or operas, performing a role in stage arts that is similar to that of a film producer, film or Television show#Production, television producer. Palm Beach Opera, a professional opera company in West Palm Beach, Florida performs at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts as well as other locations throughout South Florida, was founded in 1961 as "Civic Opera of the Palm Beaches." Victoria Livengood (born August 8, 1959) is an American mezzo-soprano and voice teacher. She is most renown for her extensive and prestigious international operatic career spanning over 35 years and counting. Her past and current career sees her regularly in the top opera houses around the world. She has sung over 100 different operatic roles throughout her career and over 120 separate performances at the Metropolitan Opera. Roberta Peters
Roberta Peters (May 4, 1930 – January 18, 2017) was an American coloratura soprano. One of the most prominent American singers to achieve lasting fame and success in opera, Peters is noted for her 35-year association with the Metropolitan Opera Company in New York, among the longest such associations between a singer and a company in opera. She was awarded the National Medal of Arts in 1998.
