Joe Ferguson
Joseph Carlton Ferguson Jr. (born April 23, 1950) is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 17 seasons, primarily with the Buffalo Bills. He played college football at Arkansas. Early years Ferguson played high school football in Shreveport, Louisiana for Woodlawn High School. He guided the Knights to the Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class AAA (the top classification at the time) state championship in 1968. Ferguson succeeded Terry Bradshaw as Woodlawn's starting quarterback. Ferguson played college football at the University of Arkansas, where he held the school's single game record for most completions until broken in 2012 (31 against Texas A&M in 1971). Joseph Vance Ferguson (born September 19, 1946) is an American former professional baseball player and coach. He played as a catcher in Major League Baseball from 1970 to 1983 for the Los Angeles Dodgers, St. Louis Cardinals, Houston Astros, and the California Angels. After his playing career, Ferguson became a coach and minor league manager. Career Prior to his professional baseball career, Ferguson played baseball but also basketball at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA. In fact, he played in the West Regional Final in March of 1967, where Pacific fell to eventual National champion UCLA, led by sophomore Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Joseph Ferguson (1788 – 17 February 1863) was an English politician. He was born at Carlisle, the son of Robert Ferguson, Esq and his wife Anne daughter of John Wood Esq of Maryport, and was educated at Carlisle grammar school. Career A liberal reformer by conviction, he joined a manufacturing firm in Carlisle, and was soon a sleeping partner in the firm. He was made President of the Chamber of Commerce in Carlisle in 1833 on the reform of the franchise. He was "of decidedly liberal opinions; in favour of parliamentary reform, opposed to the Maynooth Grant". The Maynooth Grant, to an Irish catholic seminary, had been rejected by Peel's Conservative government, but in 1847 post-famine was accepted by Lord John Russell's Whig government.
