Josep Maria Miró (Prats de Lluçanès, Barcelona, 1977) is a playwright and theater director from Catalonia. He is known by plays such as ''Archimedes’ Principle'', ''Nerium Park'' or ''The Nicest Body Ever Seen Around These Parts''. He writes his plays in Catalan language. Biography Josep Maria Miró graduated in Direction and Dramaturgy from the Theater Institute of Barcelona and in Journalism from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB.). His plays have been translated into over twenty languages, with approximately 100 world premieres and numerous publications. He has also undertaken various dramaturgies and stage adaptations. The University of Girona ( (); ;) is located in the city of Girona, Catalonia, Spain. Its real origin dates back to its creation in 1446, but it was reestablished as a new university in 1991. As of 2021, it consists of several campus and buildings across Girona: ''Montilivi'', ''Barri Vell'', ''Centre'', and ''Parc Científic i Tecnològic.'' Reunion (Uhlman Novel)
''Reunion'' (originally written in English) is a novella by Fred Uhlman, set in 1933 in Germany. The novella was first published in 1971 in an edition of 700, plus 50 hors commerce signed and numbered by the author. The Penguin edition includes the information that the novella was written in 1960 and was Uhlman's first work of fiction. Born in Stuttgart in 1901, the author worked as a lawyer in Germany, before fleeing the Nazis in 1933, moving to France, where he was a painter, then Spain, and by 1936 settled in the United Kingdom. Presentation The book focuses on the impossible friendship between the narrator Hans Schwarz, son of a Jewish doctor, and Konradin von Hohenfels, a young aristocrat, during the rise of the Nazi regime (in 1932) in Stuttgart, Germany. It is a short book, yet divided into nineteen numbered chapters. Josep Anselm Clavé i Camps (April 21, 1824 – February 24, 1874) also known as José Anselmo Clavé, was a Catalans, Catalan politician, composer and writer, founder of the choral movement in Catalonia and a promoter of the associative movement. He was the initiator of choral singing in Catalonia. His first experiences in the musical field were marked by the plight of his family. Clavé was forced to earn a living by singing for coffee in taverns accompanied by a guitar, when he was 17 years old. The contact with the workers, gathering in those places, led him to take them out from the taverns and meet them in choral societies. He acquired notions of violin, flute and music theory, which allowed him to compose lyrics and music for songs. In 1845 he organized ''Aurora'', a choral society that would later become ''La Fraternitat'' (The Fraternity), a society of mutual help and the first Iberian chorale. Zarzuela
() is a Spanish lyric-dramatic genre that alternates between spoken and sung scenes, the latter incorporating operatic and popular songs, as well as dance. The etymology of the name is uncertain, but some propose it may derive from the name of a royal hunting lodge, the Palace of Zarzuela, near Madrid, where that type of entertainment was allegedly first presented to the court. Neus Català i Pallejà (; 6 October 1915 – 13 April 2019) was a member of the Unified Socialist Party of Catalonia (Catalan: ''Partit Socialista Unificat de Catalunya'', PSUC) during the Spanish Civil War and was a survivor of the concentration camp of Ravensbrück. She is one of many Catalans (both men and women) who survived internment in the Nazi concentration camp system. Biography Neus Català was born on 6 October 1915 in Els Guiamets, Tarragona, Catalonia. However, her godmother officially registered her birth on 15 June that year, because of the disappearance of the documentation of the Municipality of Barcelona after the Spanish Civil War. Joan Maragall
Joan Maragall i Gorina (; 10 October 1860 – 20 December 1911) was a Catalan poet, journalist and translator, the foremost member of the movement in literature. His manuscripts are preserved in the Joan Maragall Archive of Barcelona. Life Maragall's upper-class family was dedicated to the flourishing textile industry in Barcelona, and after finishing school, Joan Maragall took on his father's job. Having never liked his family's trade, he decided to go to university instead, where he studied law to his father's great disappointment. However, he dropped out of school and married Clara Noble with whom he had 13 children. In 1904 he won all three prizes awarded by the in Barcelona, and was proclaimed ''Mestre en Gai Saber''.
