Josefina Robledo Gallego
Josefina Robledo Gallego (Valencia, 10 May 1897 – Godella, 25 May 1972) was a Spanish guitarist who performed extensively around Valencia and in South America and became the main disseminator of the Tàrrega school in Brazil. She was a pioneer in her genre, paving the way for future generations of guitarists, especially women. Although she did not compose works, she transcribed the work of classical composers such as Mendelssohn, Beethoven and Chopin. Biography Josefina Robledo Gallego was born in Valencia on 10 May 1897. She was an early disciple of the renowned Spanish guitarist Francisco de Asís Tàrrega y Eixea, and began her musical career in her youth. In 1907, when she was only 10 years old, she gave her first concert at the Valencia Conservatory, and soon her concert career took her to different Spanish cities, achieving fame in the region of her hometown. Daniel Fortea
Daniel Fortea i Guimerà (28 April 1878 in Benlloc, Spain – 5 March 1953 in Castellón de la Plana, Spain) was a Spanish guitarist, composer, and music educator. Biography In his childhood, Fortea learned the clarinette, guitar and bandurria. From 1898 until 1909 he studied with Francisco Tárrega in Castellón de la Plana. His fellow students were, among others, Emilio Pujol and Miguel Llobet. In 1909 Fortea founded in Madrid his own music school and began the Fortea Library, one of the most important collections of music for guitar. He also concertized and wrote works for guitar. Emilio Pujol
Emilio Pujol Vilarrubí (or ''Emili''; 7 April 1886 – 15 November 1980) was a Spanish composer, guitarist and a leading teacher of the classical guitar. Biography Emili Pujol was born in the little village of Granadella just outside Lleida, Spain. He began his studies with Francisco Tárrega in 1902, when he was sixteen years of age. At this time, Miguel Llobet was making his debut as a concert artist outside Barcelona. Pujol fondly remembered his first encounter with Tárrega and in his biography of his teacher, he described his ''mestre'' in very endearing, romantic terms. During the war years 1914–1918 he did not travel much and mainly remained in Catalonia. In 1918 he undertook his first tour of South America, starting in Buenos Aires.
