Josef Slíva
Josef Slíva (born November 25, 1898, date of death unknown) was a Czech people, Czech Figure skating, figure skater who competed for Czechoslovakia in the 1924 Winter Olympics and in the 1928 Winter Olympics. In 1924 he finished fourth in the Figure skating at the 1924 Winter Olympics – Men's singles, singles event. Four years later he finished fifth in the Figure skating at the 1928 Winter Olympics – Men's singles, singles competition at the St. Moritz Games. In 1930, he was initially declared the winner of the 1930 European Figure Skating Championships, European Championships; however, the results were nullified due to two of the officials not being certified, and the event was ordered to be redone. Slíva did not complete the second competition. His last international competition was the 1931 World Figure Skating Championships, 1931 World Championships, where he placed twelfth. Třinec
Třinec (; ; ) is a city in Frýdek-Místek District in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. World Figure Skating Championships
The World Figure Skating Championships are an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by the International Skating Union (ISU). The first World Championships were held in 1896 in Saint Petersburg, Russia, and they have been held ever since with only four interruptions. A separate competition for women was established in 1905, with the men's and women's events held as separate competitions for several years. Pair skating was added in 1908 and ice dance in 1952. Skaters are eligible to compete at the World Championships, provided they represent a member nation of the International Skating Union and are selected by their respective federation. Skating federations have the liberty to make their own selections, but skaters competing at the World Championships must have earned the minimum required element scores. Czech People
The Czechs (, ; singular Czech, masculine: ''Čech'' , singular feminine: ''Češka'' ), or the Czech people (), are a West Slavic ethnic group and a nation native to the Czech Republic in Central Europe, who share a common ancestry, culture, history, and the Czech language.
