Jose Izquierdo Encarnacion
José Miguel “Pepe” Izquierdo Encarnación (born October 6, 1957) served as the 19th Secretary of State of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. A structural engineer by education and profession, he has served in many professional, civic and public organizations. Formerly the Secretary of State and Secretary of Transportation and Public Works for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, he is now Principal of PORTICUS, a consulting firm located in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. Biography José (Pepe) Izquierdo received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from the University of Puerto Rico. He joined Capacete-Martin & Associates, Architects and Engineers in San Juan in 1980. Pepe served as a Senior Structural Engineer for the firm for 5 years. Aníbal Acevedo Vilá
Aníbal Salvador Acevedo Vilá (born 13 February 1962) is a Puerto Rican politician and lawyer. He served as the governor of Puerto Rico from 2005 to 2009. He is a Harvard University alumnus (LL.M. 1987) and a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico School of Law, where he obtained his Juris Doctor degree. Acevedo Vilá has held various public service positions in the Puerto Rico government under the Popular Democratic Party, serving as a member of the House of Representatives of Puerto Rico (1993–2001) and as the 17th Resident Commissioner (2001–2005), before he was sworn in as Governor on 2 January 2005. Acevedo Vilá was also a member of the National Governors Association, the Southern Governors' Association and the Democratic Governors Association, and a collaborator of President Barack Obama's presidential campaign. Fernando J. Bonilla Ortiz (born 1962) is a Puerto Rican political figure who served as the 21st Secretary of State of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Bonilla also served as the Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Ports Authority. As Secretary of State, Bonilla was constitutionally empowered to assume the seat of Governor of Puerto Rico in case that the incumbent was incapable to do so. After the federal indictment of incumbent Governor Aníbal Acevedo Vilá, the possibility existed that Acevedo might resign his position, thereby elevating Bonilla to the seat of governor. The American Concrete Institute (ACI, formerly National Association of Cement Users or NACU) is a non-profit technical society and standards developing organization. Marisara Pont Marchese
Marisara Pont Marchese (born October 29, 1941) served as the 20th Secretary of State of Puerto Rico, as well as Acting Governor in the absence of Governor Aníbal Acevedo Vilá and the only one whose recess term ended when denied legislative confirmation. She is a public relations consultant in Puerto Rico and has held several public and partisan offices over the years. She was a member of the University of Puerto Rico's Board of Trustees, appointed in 2001. In 2005, she served for 5 months as the third woman and 20th Secretary of State of Puerto Rico under a recess appointment by Governor Acevedo-Vilá.
