Jocelyn De Brakelond
Jocelyn or Jocelin de Brakelond or Brakelonde (; century) was an English Benedictine monk at Bury St. Edmunds Abbey in Suffolk, England. He is only known through his work, the Chronicle of the Abbey of St. Edmunds, which narrates the fortunes of the monastery during the years from 1173 to 1202. Life Jocelyn was a native of Bury St. Edmunds. He took the habit of religion in 1173, during the abbacy of Hugo (1157–1180), through whose improvidence and laxity the abbey had become impoverished and the monks had lost discipline. He served his novitiate under Samson of Tottington, who was at that time master of the novices but afterwards became sub-sacrist and then, from 1182, abbot of the house. The fortunes of the abbey changed for the better with the election of Samson as Hugo's successor. Joseph Régis Jocelyn Thibault (born January 12, 1975) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender who played 14 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Quebec Nordiques, Colorado Avalanche, Montreal Canadiens, Chicago Blackhawks, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Buffalo Sabres. Thibault was born in Montreal, Quebec and grew up in nearby Laval. He led a group out of Sherbrooke, Quebec to create an expansion team in the QMJHL. The new team, Sherbrooke Phoenix, started playing in the 2012–13 season. In 2021, Thibault left the Phoenix to become the new executive director of Hockey Quebec. Jocelyn Charles Bjorn Lovell (19 July 1950 – 3 June 2016) was a Canadian and World cycling champion. He won dozens of Canadian national titles for track and road cycling in the 1970s and early 1980s, as well as gold medals at the Commonwealth Games and Pan American Games. He competed at three Olympic Games. His victories, at international competitions, renewed global interest in Canadian cycling.
