Jos Suijkerbuijk
Adri "Jos" Suijkerbuijk (20 April 1929 – 1 February 2015) was a Dutch professional road bicycle racer active in the 1950s. He competed in the 1953 and 1954 Tour de France races, he did however not finish in 1954 due to a fall in the second to last stage. His career ended in 1954. Princenhage () is a neighbourhood in the southwest of the city Breda in the Netherlands, Dutch province of North Brabant. 1953 Tour De France
The 1953 Tour de France was the 40th edition of the Tour de France, taking place from 3 to 26 July. It consisted of 22 stages over . The race was won by Louison Bobet, the first of his three consecutive wins. At first, internal struggles in the French national team seemed to work against Bobet, but when the team joined forces, he beat regional rider Jean Malléjac in the mountains. The 1954 Tour de France was the 41st edition of the Tour de France, taking place from 8 July to 1 August 1954. It consisted of 23 stages over . The race was won by Louison Bobet, the second of his three consecutive wins. Made, Netherlands
Made is a town in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located in the municipality of Drimmelen, about 10 km northeast of Breda. History The village was first mentioned in 1321 as die Made, and means hay land. Until the 14th century, Made was part of the meadows of Geertruidenberg and was considered part of the city until 1795. The Dutch Reformed church dates from 1512. Gerardus "Gerrit" Petrus Voorting (18 January 1923 – 30 January 2015) was a Dutch road cyclist who was active between 1947 and 1960. As an amateur he won the silver medal in the individual road race at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London. In his professional career Voorting won two Tour de France stages and wore the yellow jersey for 4 days. Voorting died on 30 January 2015 in his home in Heemskerk at the age of 92, rvmn.nl (4 February 2015) within a week of two other members of the Dutch men's team pursuit squad, Henk Faanhof and Joop Harmans. Henk Faanhof
Henk Faanhof (29 August 1922 – 27 January 2015) was a Dutch professional road bicycle racer from Amsterdam. Faanhof won one stage in the 1954 Tour de France. In 1947 Faanhof was disqualified in the Dutch National Road Race Championship after changing bicycles with a teammate. The rule that bicycle changes were not allowed was new and Faanhof did not know about it. He also competed in three events at the 1948 Summer Olympics. Faanhof died in Amsterdam on 27 January 2015, aged 92, less than a week before two other members of the Dutch men's team pursuit squad, Gerrit Voorting and Joop Harmans.
