Marie Guillaume Gerard Joseph Schreurs (18 November 1934 – 10 April 2022) was a Dutch Roman Catholic priest and politician. A member of the Christian Democratic Appeal, he served in the Senate from 1980 to 1981. Nuth
Nuth (; ) is a village and a former Municipalities of the Netherlands, municipality in the province of Limburg, situated in the southern Netherlands. In January 2019, the municipality merged with Schinnen and Onderbanken to form Beekdaelen. The village of Nuth has 4,595 inhabitants (1 January 2021), and is with that the largest village of the municipality. The town hall of the municipality Nuth was also situated in the village Nuth. The other villages in the municipality were Hulsberg with 3972 inhabitants, Schimmert with 3184, Wijnandsrade with 1623 and Vaesrade with 997 inhabitants (data: 1-1-2021). Sittard-Geleen (; ) is a Municipalities of the Netherlands, municipality in the southeastern Netherlands. It was formed in 2001 from the former municipalities Sittard, Geleen and Born (Netherlands), Born. The combined municipality has approximately 92,650 inhabitants (January 2024) and is thus the third most populated municipality in Limburg (after Maastricht with 125,000 and Venlo with 103,000 inhabitants). Since February 2020, the city has been governed by a coalition of Christian Democratic Appeal, CDA (''Christian Democrats''), GreenLeft, GroenLinks (''Green'') and the local parties GOB and Stadspartij. The Christian Democratic Appeal ( , CDA) is a Christian democratic and conservative political party in the Netherlands. Formed as a federation in 1975 by the Catholic People's Party, the Anti-Revolutionary Party, and the Christian Historical Union, it first participated in a general election in 1977 and unified into a single party in 1980. The party dominated Dutch politics from 1977 to 1994, becoming the largest party all but twice, with leaders Dries van Agt and Ruud Lubbers serving as prime minister. The party faced a major defeat in the 1994 general election, after which the first two cabinets without its participation were formed.
