Jorunn Johnsen
Jorunn Johnsen (24 November 1905 – 1 May 1984) was a Norwegian journalist. Johnsen studied in Berlin and Oslo, and worked three years at '' Christianssands Tidende'' before being hired at ''Aftenposten'' in 1936, where she reported for the rest of career. Johnsen specialized in reporting on social issues. From January 1944 to March 1945, Johnsen was imprisoned in Grini concentration camp for "German-hostile behaviour", during the German occupation of Norway. Grini Concentration Camp Survivors
Grini is a district in northeastern Bærum, Norway. Concentration camp The name Grini is best known from the concentration camp of the same name, but this camp lay further west and had no actual connection to the Grini area. History The name Grini is a variant of ''Granvin'' ( a placename used elsewhere), and stems from spruce trees in the area. The Old Norse form was Grǫnin. The farm Grini is known at least since 1348, when it was parted into a northern and a southern part. Both farms belonged to the Church of Norway, but the crown usurped the property following the Protestant Reformation. The dwelling house was erected in 1658, three years before the property was sold from the crown to a private person. Between the mid-seventeenth century and the mid-nineteenth century the property was owned by the Leuch, Anker and Wedel-Jarlsberg families. Henry Imsland
Henry Imsland (27 May 1900 – 14 June 1981) was a Norwegian illustrator. He was born in Stavanger as a son of Jacob Imsland (1868–1950) and Henriette Knudsen (1871–1941). He married Dorthea Grude (1906–1982). He became deaf at the age of nine, but dedicated himself to drawing. He studied at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry from 1916 to 1920, among others with Johan Nordhagen as a teacher. He made his debut exhibit at Statens kunstutstilling in 1919, and got his first newspaper job in ''Stavanger Aftenblad''. In the first years he also drew advertisements, and founded and edited the humorous magazine '' Molboposten'' in 1924. In 1929 he was given a permanent position as illustrator in ''Stavanger Aftenblad''. He worked here until his death. He also illustrated covers for books by Per Thomsen and Theodor Dahl among others. Asbjørn Barlaup
Asbjørn Barlaup (31 January 1902 – 4 February 1989) was a Norwegian journalist. He was born in Trondheim. He worked in ''Adresseavisen'' from 1919, and later became subeditor of ''Morgenavisen''. He was hired in ''Tidens Tegn'' in 1930, but resigned in protest in 1940 because of the German occupation of Norway and the Nazi usurpation of the newspaper. He instead joined the Norwegian resistance movement, fled in 1941 when he was in danger of being discovered, and worked until 1945 for the Norwegian High Command in exile. Based in London, he took part in Operation Archery. After 1945 he worked for the newspaper ''Verdens Gang''. Already in the first year he hired Salo Grenning as an illustrator. He was awarded the Narvesen Prize in 1956. He was later information director in Elkem. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The municipality of Oslo had a population of in 2022, while the city's greater urban area had a population of in 2019, and the metropolitan area had an estimated population of in 2021.
