Emil Jørgensen
Emil Ludvig Peter Jørgensen (7 February 1882 in Gentofte – 23 March 1947 in Gentofte) was a Danish amateur football player and administrator. He played four games for the Denmark national football team, and won a silver medal at the 1912 Summer Olympics. Biography Jørgensen was an energetic and strong half back, with a knack for going on the offensive to shoot from the distance. He represented Danish clubs ØB and B 93. He made his Danish national team debut in October 1911. He was part of the Danish team, which won the silver medal in the football tournament of the 1912 Summer Olympics. He had trouble getting the days off at his everyday workplace in the Copenhagen tax office, so Jørgensen missed the first Danish game of the tournament. Ellen Sophie Rasmine Jørgensen (1877–1948) was a Danish historian and librarian. She is remembered internationally for her authoritative books on Danish historiography, including ''Historieforskning og Historieskrivning i Danmark intil Aar 1800'' (1931). Her earlier doctorate thesis ''Helgendyrkelse i Danmark i Middelalderens senere Tid'' provides a detailed, well-sourced account of the church and scholarly history of Denmark and Europe in the late middle ages. Ejler Andreas Christoffer Jorgensen aka Eiler Jørgensen (July 16, 1838 – December 17, 1876) was a Danish-American landscape and portrait painter Biography Eiler Jørgensen was born in Sømme Herred in Roskilde, Denmark. He was the eldest son of parish priest Søren Hillerup Jørgensen (1806-1847) and Conradine van Deurs (1812-1890). He was a student at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (''Det Kongelige Danske Kunstakademi'') in Copenhagen (1860). He relocated to the United States in 1873. Richard M. Jorgensen (April 12, 1934 – October 10, 1990) was an American football official in the National Football League (NFL) for 22 years, through the 1989 season, the last 19 years as a referee.
