Jorge Teixeira (Manaus)
Jorge Filipe Avelino Teixeira (born 27 August 1986) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays for AVS Futebol SAD as a central defender. He spent most of his career abroad, mainly 170 games in the Belgian Pro League with Standard Liège and Sint-Truiden, while also winning the Swiss Cup with Zürich in 2014. Additionally, he had spells in Cyprus, Israel, Italy and England. Club career Early career Born in Lisbon, Teixeira spent eight years in Sporting CP's youth system, but never appeared officially for its first team, being released in 2005 and spending his first two seasons as a senior in the third division, with Casa Pia A.C. and Odivelas FC, both hailing from the Lisboa Region. The 2012–13 Serie A (known as the Serie A TIM for sponsorship reasons) was the 111th season of top-tier Italian football, the 81st in a round-robin tournament, and the 3rd since its organization under a league committee separate from Serie B. 2008–09 Cypriot First Division
The 2008–09 Cypriot First Division was the seventy season of top-tier football on Cyprus. It started on 30 August 2008 and ended on 10 May 2009. The defending champions were Anorthosis. APOEL won the championship three matchweeks before the end of the season. This year, for the second time, the championship also featured a group stage play-off system. Teams were divided into 3 groups: 1st–4th, 5th–8th and 9th–12th. Points from the main part of the season still counted. Format Fourteen teams participated in the 2008–09 Cypriot First Division. Each team played against every other team twice, once at home and once away, for a total of 26 matches.
