Jorge Gutiérrez (basketball)
Jorge Iván Gutiérrez Cárdenas (born December 27, 1988) is a Mexican former professional basketball player currently working as an assistant coach for the Long Island Nets of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the California Golden Bears. High school career Gutiérrez attended Abraham Lincoln High School for two years, leading the Lancers to the Colorado state championship, earning tournament MVP honors after contributing 22.5 points and 6.0 rebounds on 58.8 percent field goal shooting over the course of the campaign. The next year, he averaged 20.3 points and 3.7 rebounds while shooting 61.4 percent from the floor. After two years, he moved to Findlay Prep where he averaged 13.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 2.6 assists as a senior, earning the MVP award at the National Prep School Invitational in Rhode Island after helping his team to a runner-up finish. The Mexico City Capitanes () are a Mexican professional basketball team based in Mexico City. The Capitanes competed as a member club in the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional (LNBP) for its first three seasons and the franchise is currently a member of the NBA G League. The 2022 LNBP season is the 22nd season of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional (LNBP), the top level basketball league of Mexico. The season began on July 12 and ended on October 28, 2022 with Abejas de León got the championship sweep of 4–0 series win over Astros de Jalisco, giving Abejas their 1st Title. This season features 10 teams. The format was changed since last season, since an overall table was used to determine the 8 teams that qualify for the playoffs (instead of using the East and West Districts).
