Jorge Calvo (baseball)
Jorge Calvo (March 4, 1938 – January 28, 2009) was a Mexican baseball player. Jorge played minor league baseball for several seasons, spending parts of three seasons in the Mexican League, the highest level of professional baseball in Mexico. He also managed in the Mexican League for eight years. He was born in Ocotlan, Jalisco, Mexico. An outfielder, Calvo's playing career spanned 1960 to 1967. His statistical record is incomplete. He managed the ﾃ］geles de Puebla in 1973, the Tecolotes de Nuevo Laredo in 1977 and again from 1983 to 1984, the Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos from 1985 to 1986 and the Tigres de Mﾃｩxico from 1995 to 1996. Mexican League
The Mexican League (, ) is a professional baseball league based in Mexico and the oldest running professional league in the country. The league has 18 teams organized in two divisions, North and South. Teams play 114 games each season. Five teams in each division advance to a four-round postseason tournament that culminates in the Serie del Rey, a best-of-seven championship series between the two division champions. The Mexican League has two affiliated minor leagues, the Liga Norte de Mﾃｩxico and Mexican Academy League. Though founded in 1925, the league joined the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues ( Minor League Baseball) in 1955, when it was designated a Double-A league. Club ﾃ］geles de Puebla was a football team that played in Mexican Primera Divisiﾃｳn and in Primera Divisiﾃｳn A, it had its home in the city of Puebla de Zaragoza in Mexico. The team was founded in the years 1984窶85 after the purchase of the Club de Fﾃｺtbol Oaxtepec franchise. This team did not have any success, but it was always provided with the support of the people. It was a hardened team that strained to a great extent in its stay in the Mexican Primera Divisiﾃｳn. After the 1989窶90 season, the franchise was sold and transferred to Torreﾃｳn and was made into Santos. The club made a brief comeback in 1999, which ended in 2001. The Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos (''Owls of the Two Laredos''), formerly known as the Tecolotes de Nuevo Laredo (''Owls of Nuevo Laredo''), are a Minor League Baseball team based in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, and Laredo, Texas in the Mexican League. The Tecolotes are a binational baseball team, splitting their home games between Mexico and the United States. Their home games in Mexico are played at Parque la Junta, while their home games in the United States are played at Uni-Trade Stadium.
