King In The Ring
King in the Ring is an 8-man elimination kickboxing tournament that is held in Aotearoa, New Zealand. Tournament format King in the Ring is a single-elimination eight man tournament that is complete in one night. The tournament format consists of seven K1 rules kickboxing bouts with each bout being scheduled for three, three minute rounds with a minute break. If after three rounds a fight is declared a draw, an extra round is required to determine the winner and the decision is based on the extra round only. A random draw out of a hat is conducted before the event to determine which fighters contest each other in the four quarter final matches. Islam Murtazaev (Russian: Ислам Муртазаев; born April 13, 1991) is a Russian kickboxer and mixed martial artist. As of March 2023, he is ranked as the fourth best middleweight in the world by Beyond Kickboxing. Biography and career Early career Murtazaev grew up in Dagestan where he trained in wrestling before transitioning to Muay Thai at the age of 10. Referee Technical Decision
A corner retirement (also known as a corner stoppage) is a term in boxing used to describe a fight ending when a boxer refuses to continue or their corner team pulls them out during the rest period between rounds. This results in the referee stopping the fight, and it is officially recorded as "RTD" (Retired) in boxing records, including those maintained by BoxRec. The Trusts Arena is an indoor arena located in Henderson, Auckland, New Zealand. It is a multi-purpose stadium that primarily holds sports events and music concerts. The Arena was opened by then Prime Minister of New Zealand Helen Clark on 11 September 2004. It holds 4,901 people. New Zealand Professional Boxing Association (NZPBA) is one of the four governing bodies for the sport of professional boxing in New Zealand. NZPBA is a non-profit organisation.
