Joonas Korpisalo
Joonas Korpisalo (; born 28 April 1994) is a Finnish professional ice hockey goaltender for the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL). He previously played for the Columbus Blue Jackets, Los Angeles Kings, and Ottawa Senators. Playing career Korpisalo played professionally in his native Finland in the Liiga, SM-liiga during the 2012–13 SM-liiga season, 2012–13 and 2013–14 Liiga season, 2013–14 seasons for Jokerit and Ilves respectively. Columbus Blue Jackets (2014–2023) Korpisalo was selected by the Blue Jackets in the third round (62nd overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Sergei Andreyevich Bobrovsky (; born 20 September 1988) is a Russian professional ice hockey goaltender for the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has also played in the NHL for the Philadelphia Flyers and Columbus Blue Jackets, with whom he became recognized as one of the NHL's top goaltenders. Bobrovsky is a two-time Vezina Trophy winner, winning in the 2012–13 and 2016–17 seasons while a member of the Blue Jackets. In February 2023, Bobrovsky achieved the most wins for a Russian goaltender in NHL history, surpassing Evgeni Nabokov. Vladislav Andreyevich Gavrikov (; born 21 November 1995) is a Russian professional ice hockey defenceman for the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted 159th overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Gavrikov made his Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) debut with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl during the 2014–15 season. 1935–36 NHL Season
The 1935–36 NHL season was the 19th season of the National Hockey League (NHL). The St. Louis Eagles dropped out of the league, leaving eight teams. The Detroit Red Wings were the Stanley Cup winners as they beat the Toronto Maple Leafs three games to one in the Stanley Cup Finals. League business Prior to the season, the St. Louis Eagles franchise owners asked the league for permission to suspend operations for a year and then relocate back to Ottawa, however the league denied the requests. On October 15, 1935, the NHL bought back the franchise and players contracts for $40,000 and suspended operations. Normie Smith
Norman Eugene Smith (March 18, 1908 – February 2, 1988) was a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender who played for the Montreal Maroons and the Detroit Red Wings in the National Hockey League. Rookie career Smith enjoyed much success in his rookie years with the Montreal Maroons. He was playing his 20th game for the Maroons in 1930–31 when Howie Morenz was sent flying into the Maroons net and knocked off Smith, who was so badly injured that he was out for the rest of the season. Smith spent the next two seasons in the minors working on his rebound-control and all-around game. The Easter Epic is the nickname given to a National Hockey League (NHL) ice hockey game during the 1987 Stanley Cup playoffs between the New York Islanders and Washington Capitals. The seventh and deciding game of the Patrick Division semifinals, it was played April 18–19, 1987, at the Capital Centre in Landover, Maryland, and is so named because the game started on Saturday evening but did not finish until the early hours of Easter Sunday. Kelly Hrudey (; born January 13, 1961) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender who is a broadcaster with Sportsnet as a studio analyst for ''Hockey Night in Canada'' and colour commentator for Calgary Flames regional broadcasts. Elvis Merzļikins (; born 13 April 1994) is a Latvian professional ice hockey goaltender for the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League (NHL). Merzļikins spent several years playing hockey in Switzerland for HC Lugano, and was awarded the Jacques Plante Trophy as best goaltender in the National League in both 2016 and 2018. Drafted 76th overall by the Blue Jackets in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, Merzļikins moved to North America in 2019 and made his NHL debut that year.
