Jony Marcos
Jony Marcos de Souza Araujo (born 30 September 1977) more commonly known as Jony Marcos and Pastor Jony is a Brazilian politician and pastor. Although born in Mato Grosso do Sul, he has spent his political career representing Sergipe, having served as state representative since 2015. Personal life Jony Marcos was born to João Feliciano Rodrigues de Araújo and Eva de Souza Araújo. Prior to becoming a politician Jony Marcos worked as a radio personality, and he still maintains a radio talk show. He is a pastor of the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God. He is a member of the evangelical caucus in the legislature. Political career Jony Marcos voted in favor of the impeachment motion of then-president Dilma Rousseff. Chamber Of Deputies (Brazil)
The Chamber of Deputies ( pt, Câmara dos Deputados) is a federal legislative body and the lower house of the National Congress of Brazil. The chamber comprises 513 deputies, who are elected by proportional representation to serve four-year terms. The current President of the Chamber is the Deputy Arthur Lira ( PP- AL), who was elected on 1 February 2021. Structure The number of deputies elected is proportional to the size of the population of the respective state (or of the Federal District) as of 1994. However, no delegation can be made up of less than eight or more than seventy seats. Thus the least populous state elects eight federal deputies and the most populous elects seventy. These restrictions favour the smaller states at the expense of the more populous states and so the size of the delegations is not exactly proportional to population. Michel Temer
Michel Miguel Elias Temer Lulia (; born 23 September 1940) is a Brazilian politician, lawyer and writer who served as the 37th president of Brazil from 31 August 2016 to 31 December 2018. He took office after the impeachment and removal from office of his predecessor Dilma Rousseff. He had been the 24th vice president of Brazil since 2011 and acting president since 12 May 2016, when Rousseff's powers and duties were suspended pending an impeachment trial. The Senate's 61–20 vote on 31 August 2016 to remove Rousseff from office meant that Temer succeeded her and served out the remainder of her second term. In his first speech in office, Temer called for a government of "national salvation" and asked for the trust of the Brazilian people. He also signaled his intention to overhaul the pension system and labor laws, and to curb public spending. Brazil Labor Reform (2017)
The 2017 labor reform in Brazil was a significant change in the country's Consolidation of Labor Laws ( pt, Consolidação das Leis do Trabalho). According to the government, the goal of the reform was to combat unemployment and the still ongoing 2014 Brazilian economic crisis. The bill was proposed and sent to the Chamber of Deputies by the president Michel Temer on December 23, 2016. Since then, during its processing in the National Congress, it was going through several debates and additions to the original bill, for example, the proposal to end the obligatory syndicate (labor union) tax paid by workers hired under the CLT. The bill was approved by the Chamber on April 26, 2017, with 296 favorable votes and 177 against. Later, in the Federal Senate, it was approved on July 11, 2017, by 50 versus 26 votes.
