Jonathan Lunney
Jonathan Lunney (born 2 February 1998) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for League of Ireland Premier Division club Shelbourne. His previous clubs are St Patrick's Athletic, Bohemians and Waterford. Career Youth career Lunney grew up in Swords, Dublin and began playing with Malahide United, from there he joined the academy of EFL Championship club Preston North End in 2014, before returning home to the under-19 side of League of Ireland club St Patrick's Athletic in 2016. St Patrick's Athletic Lunney made his first team debut for St Patrick's Athletic on 21 October 2016, replacing the injured Lee Desmond from the bench in the 21st minute of a 3–1 defeat away to Cork City at Turners Cross. Swords ( or ) in County Dublin, the county town of the local government area of Fingal, is a large suburban town on the east coast of Ireland, situated ten kilometres north of Dublin city centre. The League of Ireland Cup, also referred to in Ireland as the 'League Cup', was an annual knockout competition in men's football in Ireland. It was contested by League of Ireland clubs and invited clubs from the lower levels of the Irish football league system. It has been sponsored by Electronic Arts and branded the EA Sports Cup since 2009. The competition began in 1973–74, replacing the League of Ireland Shield and the Dublin City Cup. It has had several formats since its inception and has been a knock-out competition since 2005. As there was no European qualification for winners of the League of Ireland Cup, it had a lower status than the FAI Cup and was therefore seen as the third most important trophy in the Irish playing season. The Markets Field is a UEFA category two stadium in Garryowen, Limerick, Ireland with a capacity of around 3,500. Formerly the home of Limerick FC, it is currently the home ground of Treaty United. The ground has hosted underage international fixtures in 2015 and 2021, as well as the 2016 League of Ireland Cup final between Limerick and St Patrick's Athletic. Richmond Park is a football stadium in Dublin, Ireland. Situated in the Dublin suburb of Inchicore, it is the home ground of League of Ireland side St Patrick's Athletic (also known as St Pat's). The area where the ground now stands was formerly used as a recreational area by the British Army, who were stationed at the nearby Richmond Barracks, both named after Charles Lennox, 4th Duke of Richmond the barracks having since been demolished.
