Jonathan Hill (presenter)
Jonathan Hill is a Welsh television presenter, journalist and producer, who currently presents ''ITV News: Wales at Six, Wales at Six'', the nightly news magazine programme on ITV Wales & West, ITV Cymru Wales. He is also the editor of the station's English language output. Hill, who studied English at Swansea University before specialising in journalism, started his career freelancing for BBC Radio Wales, before joining HTV Wales as a general news reporter and bulletin presenter in 1993 for ''HTV Newsdesk'' and ''Wales at Six''. In February 1994, he was made one of the main presenters of ''Wales Tonight'', and has since been the senior anchor for the station's main regional news programmes, including ''HTV News'' and ''ITV Wales News''. ITV News'' Wales at Six'' is the evening news programme broadcast and produced by ITV Cymru Wales. Overview ''Wales at Six'' and all other ITV Wales news programming is broadcast live from studios at Assembly Square in Cardiff Bay, with a North Wales newsroom based in Colwyn Bay, and a political unit at the Senedd in Cardiff Bay. District reporters are also based in West Wales, Merthyr Tydfil and Swansea. Jonathan Hill was promoted from news reporter and newsreader to a main anchor for the main evening news programme during February 1994. ITV Wales & West
ITV Wales and West, previously known as Harlech Television (HTV), was an ITV (TV network), ITV franchisee in the United Kingdom until 31 December 2013, licensed to broadcast by the regulator Ofcom. There is no channel, past or present, named "ITV Wales and West". The licence relates to a "dual region", meaning that the franchise area was divided into two sub-regions, Wales and the West of England, each of which had to be served by distinct and separate ITV programme services, as more fully defined within the licence. BBC Radio Wales is a Wales, Welsh national radio station owned and operated by BBC Cymru Wales, a division of the BBC. It began broadcasting on 13 November 1978, replacing the Welsh opt-out service of BBC Radio 4. As of August 2022, the station's managing editor is Carolyn Hitt, who is also editor of BBC Wales Sport. Radio Wales is broadcast in English, whilst sister network BBC Radio Cymru, Radio Cymru broadcasts in Welsh language, Welsh. Men & Motors was a men's lifestyle television channel in the UK. It was the last remaining station operated by the former Granada Sky Broadcasting joint venture, set up by Granada Television (now part of ITV plc) and satellite broadcaster British Sky Broadcasting in 1996. Men & Motors closed on 1 April 2010. In February 2021, One Media iP relaunched a Men & Motors channel via Kapang, a television app, fronted by Shane Lynch and Torie Campbell. ''Wales This Week'' is a long-running Welsh current affairs television programme produced by ITV Cymru Wales (formerly HTV Wales). The programme deals with a wide range of topics relating to the Welsh public, and is usually told through the eyes of those at the heart of the story. Up until 1982, HTV Wales' bilingual news department had produced a number of current affairs programmes in both languages including ''Yr Wythnos'', ''Welshscene'' and ''Outlook''. Following the creation of S4C, a dedicated Welsh language television channel, HTV formed designated current affairs teams for the first time to produce two programmes - ''Y Byd ar Bedwar'' on S4C and ''Wales This Week'' on its parent channel. John William Cooper
John William Cooper (born 3 September 1944), also known as The ''Bullseye'' Killer, is a Welsh serial killer. On 26 May 2011, he was given a whole life order for the 1985 double murder of siblings Richard and Helen Thomas, and the 1989 double murder of Peter and Gwenda Dixon. The murders were known in the media as the "Pembrokeshire Murders" or the "Coastal Murders". Cooper was also sentenced for the rape of a 16-year-old girl and a sexual assault on a 15-year-old girl, both carried out while a group of five teenagers were held at gunpoint in March 1996, in a wooded area behind the Mount Estate in Cooper's hometown of Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire.
