Jonathan Grey
Jonathan Grey (born January 13, 1992) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Biñan Tatak Gel of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) and Pilipinas Super League (PSL). He played for the Benilde Blazers of the NCAA when he was in college and previously played in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) for the Meralco Bolts and NorthPort Batang Pier. College career Grey played for the Benilde Blazers as early as Season 87. In Season 90, he was one of the notable snubs from the NCAA All-Star Game, despite averaging 11.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.9 steals. Still, he was chosen to participate in the Slam Dunk Contest. He scored 19 points in a win over the Perpetual Altas to end the first round of eliminations. Perpetual Altas
The Perpetual Altas and Lady Altas, or the UPHSD Altas and Lady Altas, are the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines) teams of the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA. They are also popularly known as the Perps. Since joining the NCAA in 1984, the university's senior varsity basketball team only made the NCAA Finals twice. In spite of the poor financial support, their biggest run was in the late 1980s, led by the "big three" Bong Hawkins, Eric Quiday, and Ronald Sy, against the SSCR Stags' "big three", Paul Alvarez, Eugene Quilban, and Nap Hatton. They are the only NCAA basketball team that joined in the 20th century that's still in the NCAA to have never won a men's basketball championship. The TNT Tropang 5G is a professional basketball team currently owned by Smart Communications, a subsidiary of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT), playing in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) since 1990. 2016 PBA Draft
The 2016 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) rookie draft was an event which allows teams to draft players from the amateur ranks. The league determined the drafting order based on the performance of the member teams for the 2015–16 season, with the worst team picking first, as a replacement for its lottery system after the controversies that surrounded the 2014 draft. The league was supposed to hold a special draft for players from the national team, popularly called '' Gilas'', separately from the regular one for other rookies. The PBA D-League, or PBA Developmental League, is the official minor league of the Philippine Basketball Association. History The PBA D-League was conceptualized after the collapse of the proposed merger between the Philippine Basketball League (PBL) and Liga Pilipinas after the staging of the ''Tournament of the Philippines'' which was composed by PBL and Liga Pilipinas teams. PBA Commissioner Chito Salud proposed the formation of a PBA D-League, which will fill the void left by the PBL. On January 25, 2011, the PBA Board of Governors approved the proposal. PBA Draft
The Philippine Basketball Association draft is an annual event dating back to 1985 in which the twelve teams from the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) can draft players who are eligible and wish to join the league. The draft usually takes place between October and December, during the league's off-season. No player may sign with the PBA until he has been eligible for at least one draft.
