Jonathan Goldsbie is a Canadian journalist, and currently the news editor for Canadaland. He has previously worked as a performance artist and as columnist at ''The National Post'', '' NOW Newspaper'' and ''Torontoist.'' He won a National Magazine Award in 2021. Career Goldsbie was previously a member of Toronto's Public Space Committee, and has worked as a columnist for ''The National Post'', '' NOW Newspaper'' and ''Torontoist''. At ''Now Newspaper'', Goldsbie was the chair of Unifor union-led employee bargaining committee. He is well known for his Twitter account @goldsbie, where he Tweets about Toronto politics. Canadaland
Canadaland is a Canadian podcast and also the name of a company founded by Jesse Brown in 2013. The original podcast covered Canadian media and media criticism. At one time the company produced other weekly or monthly podcasts covering a range of topics. As of 2024, only the flagship show, Canadaland, remained. It is hosted three days a week by Brown and once a week by Noor Azrieh. History The company was launched by Jesse Brown in the autumn of 2013. Yaroslav Pastukhov (born June 1990), more commonly known as Slava Pastuk, is a Ukrainian-born Canadian author, former prisoner, drug smuggler and music editor. He made national news in Canada in 2017 after drug smugglers that he recruited were arrested. He was arrested in 2019 and sentenced to nine years. He was released in April 2022 for Day Parole. Early life Born as Yaroslav Pastukhov in Kyiv, Ukraine, in June 1990. A political scandal took place in Canada in 2020 regarding the awarding of a federal contract to WE Charity to administer the $912 million Canada Student Service Grant program (CSSG). The controversy arose when it was revealed that the WE charity had previously paid close family of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to appear at its events, despite making claims to the contrary. In total, Craig Kielburger confirmed at a parliamentary committee, WE Charity paid approximately $425,000 to Trudeau's family including expenses. WE Charity also used pictures of Trudeau's family members as celebrity endorsements in their application. 501 Queen (301 Queen during overnight periods) is an east–west Toronto streetcar route in Ontario, Canada, operated by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). It stretches from Neville Park Loop (just west of Victoria Park Avenue) in the east, running along Queen Street and in a reserved right-of-way within the median of the Queensway to Humber Loop in the west.
