Jonathan Fritzén
Jonathan Fritzen (born October 11, 1982) is a Swedish contemporary jazz pianist and multi-instrumentalist. Biography Fritzen was born in Stockholm, Sweden to a Swedish mother, flutist Katarina Fritzén, and an American father, composer Steve Dobrogosz. He started playing drums at a young age, and as he got older he also learned the piano, bass, guitar, flute and vocals. His formal music education comes from the Royal Swedish Academy of Music in Stockholm, where he became one of the first students to receive a master's degree from the jazz department. His debut solo album, ''Love Birds'' was released in 2008. Besides playing piano, he did all the composing, producing and played all eight different instruments. Fritzen's second album ''VIP'' (2009) features vocalist Laila Adele, guitarist Jay Soto, saxophone players Michael Lington and Greger Hillman. The album spent 40 weeks on the Smoothjazz.com TOP 50. Vincent Ingala (born December 10, 1992) is a contemporary/urban jazz multi-instrumentalist. The tenor saxophone is his main instrument of choice, though he plays drums, guitar, piano, and sings as well. He has released eight albums, his most recent being released on July 12, 2024. Biography Ingala was born in Prospect, Connecticut, to parents Leo and Dawn Ingala. At age four, he started playing the drums when his parents bought him a drum set for Christmas. As he got older he learned to play the guitar, the piano, and later the saxophone at age 10. He is self taught on all instruments. As a teenager, he played the local restaurant and club circuit. Biography Jessy J was born Jessica Arellano on December 20, 1982, in Portland, Oregon, and raised in Hemet, California. Of Mexican-American descent, her father is from Mexico and her mother is a native Texan. She began playing piano at the age of four. At the age of 15, at the Béla Bartók Festival, she won the Piano State Championship. She also played saxophone in state honored bands, such as the Grammy Band, and played internationally in festivals like the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. Smooth Jazz
Smooth jazz is commercially oriented crossover jazz music. Although often described as a "genre", it is a debatable and highly controversial subject in jazz music circles. As a radio format, however, smooth jazz radio became the successor to easy listening music on radio station programming from the mid-1970s through the early 1990s. History Smooth jazz may be thought of as commercially-oriented, crossover jazz which came to prominence in the 1980s, displacing the more venturesome jazz fusion from which it emerged.
