Jonathan Chang
Jonathan Chang (張洋洋) ( zh, poj=Tiuⁿ Iûⁿ-iûⁿ; Wade–Giles: Chang Yang2 Yang2) (born May 1, 1991) is a Taiwanese actor, most known for his role as "Yang Yang" in Edward Yang's 2000 film '' Yi Yi''. Career Chang was selected to play "Yang Yang" in Edward Yang's film '' Yi Yi'' (2000) when he was only nine years old, which Yang won the Cannes Best Director award for that year. The film ended up winning a number of awards, including ranking #3 or higher on various "Top 10 Films of the Decade" lists, covering the decades spanning from 1990 to 2000. After ''Yi Yi'', Chang appeared in the feature film ''Da-Yu: The Touch of Fate'' (2006), directed by Chih-yuan Pan, where he played the title character, Da-Yu. Wade–Giles ( ) is a romanization system for Mandarin Chinese. It developed from the system produced by Thomas Francis Wade during the mid-19th century, and was given completed form with Herbert Giles's '' A Chinese–English Dictionary'' (1892). The romanization systems in common use until the late 19th century were based on the Nanjing dialect, but Wade–Giles was based on the Beijing dialect and was the system of transcription familiar in the English-speaking world for most of the 20th century. Both of these kinds of transcription were used in postal romanizations (romanized place-names standardized for postal uses). Edward Yang
Edward Yang (; November 6, 1947 – June 29, 2007) was a Taiwanese and American filmmaker. He rose to prominence as a pioneer in the Taiwanese New Wave of the 1980s, alongside fellow auteurs Hou Hsiao-hsien and Tsai Ming-liang. Yang was regarded as one of the greatest filmmakers of Taiwanese cinema. He won the Best Director Award at Cannes for his 2000 film '' Yi Yi''. Singing Chen (born in 1974) is a Taiwanese film director, documentary filmmaker, and music composer. She graduated from Advertising in the Department of Mass Communication at Fu Jen Catholic University in 1997. Lou Yi-an
Lou Yi-an () is a Taiwanese writer and director devoted to both the cinema and television industry. He is known for his dark humor, character-driven intricate story lines. He often portrays the working class and the migrants in a context of social and racial discrimination. He got noticed in 2006 when he won the Best Director in a Miniseries award from the 41st Golden Bell Awards in 2006.
