Jonas Brunvoll Sr.
Jonas Brunvoll (21 June 1894 – 1 December 1969) was a Norwegian advertisement manager, editor and politician for the Norwegian Labour Party, Labour Party. He was born in Ålesund as a son of fisherman Nils Brunvoll (1861–1944) and Beret Sæterø. In 1919 he married Kirsten Brunvoll, Kirsten Sørsdal (1895–1976). They settled at Jar, Norway, Jar, and their sons Gunnar Brunvoll, Gunnar and Jonas Brunvoll Jr., Jonas Jr. became opera administrator and opera singer, respectively. After finishing middle school in 1910, he worked as a postal clerk until 1916. He took postal school in 1913, but also commerce school at Treider School, Treider in 1917, whereupon he was hired as a bank clerk. From 1920 he worked in the press, and in 1923 he finished his fourth education; advertising school. Møllergata 19 is an address in Oslo, Norway, where the city's main police station and jail was located. The address gained notoriety during the German occupation from 1940 to 1945, when the Nazi security police kept its headquarters here. This is also where Vidkun Quisling in 1945 surrendered to the legitimate Norwegian government and was imprisoned. Sachsenhausen () or Sachsenhausen-Oranienburg was a German Nazi concentration camp in Oranienburg, Germany, used from 1936 until April 1945, shortly before the defeat of Nazi Germany in May later that year. It mainly held political prisoners throughout World War II. Grini is a district in northeastern Bærum, Norway. Concentration camp The name Grini is best known from the concentration camp of the same name, but this camp lay further west and had no actual connection to the Grini area. History The name Grini is a variant of ''Granvin'' (Granvin, a placename used elsewhere), and stems from spruce trees in the area. The Old Norse language, Old Norse form was Grǫnin. The farm Grini is known at least since 1348, when it was divided into a northern and a southern part. Both farms belonged to the Church of Norway, but the crown usurped the property following the Protestant Reformation. The dwelling house was erected in 1658, three years before the property was sold from the crown to a private person. Between the mid-seventeenth century and the mid-nineteenth century the property was owned by the Leuch, Anker and Wedel-Jarlsberg families. Bredtveit Concentration Camp Survivors
Bredtvet is a neighborhood in the borough of Bjerke in Oslo, Norway. The area is located on a ridge between the neighborhoods of Veitvet to the west and Kalbakken to the east. Its origin was as a farm of the same name. It is not mentioned in writings from the Middle Ages, but was at one time Crown land. Its first private owner is registered in 1662, and from 1817 to 1824 it was owned by Hans Nielsen Hauge. Bredtvet is also a parish in the Church of Norway, created in 1966 although Bredtvet church (''Bredtvet kirke'') was not erected until 1977.
