Jonas Berggren
Jonas Petter Berggren (born 21 March 1967) is a Swedish musician, singer-songwriter, and record producer, also known as Joker. He started writing songs when he was seven and continues to write for the band Ace of Base, which he is a founding member of, as well as for other artists. He was born in Gothenburg, Sweden. Biography Early life Jonas Petter Berggren was the first child of three siblings; his younger sisters are Linn and Jenny. Jonas was born with a cleft lip, undergoing three surgeries within his first year. He became interested in music when he was 10, after his father started teaching him to play the guitar. Career A founding member of Ace of Base, Berggren has written all of their biggest hits, including "All That She Wants", " The Sign", and " Beautiful Life". He also plays the guitar and keyboards. Colin Vearncombe (26 May 1962 – 26 January 2016), known by his stage name Black, was an English singer-songwriter. He emerged from the punk rock music scene and achieved mainstream pop success in the late 1980s, most notably with the 1986 single " Wonderful Life", which was an international hit the next year. Keren Woodward
Keren Jane Woodward (born 2 April 1961) is an English singer/songwriter and, with Sara Dallin and Siobhan Fahey, a founding member of the girl group Bananarama. In 1986, the trio reached number one on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 with their version of "Venus". Woodward and Dallin are the only constant members of Bananarama, and both have been a part of the group for over 40 years since 1979. Early life Woodward is a classically-trained pianist; she sang in choirs and performed in amateur dramatics with Dallin, whom she has known since childhood. After leaving school, Woodward worked as a pensions clerk at the BBC in Portland Place, London. Jolley & Swain
Steven Nicholas Jolley (born April 1950) and Tony Swain (born 20 January 1952, London, England) were a successful songwriting and record production duo in the United Kingdom in the early to mid-1980s, producing some of the top artists and songs of the era. Career The pair met in 1975 when Swain was working as a television cameraman on ''The Muppet Show'', where Jolley was sound technician and sometimes boom operator. They formed the band Chaser in 1975 with Richard Palmer (rhythm guitar and percussion), Nick Adams (lead guitar), Ray Bailey (bass) and Brian Grant (drums). Chaser released the single "Red Rum" (1975), written by Jolley, Palmer and Swain, on Polydor as a tribute to the famous racehorse. Siobhan Maire Deirdre Fahey (; born 10 September 1958) is an Irish singer whose vocal range is a light contralto. She was a founding member of the British girl group Bananarama, who have had ten top-10 hits including the List of Billboard Hot 100 number ones of 1986, US number one hit single "Venus (Shocking Blue song)#Bananarama version, Venus". She later formed the musical act Shakespears Sister, who had a List of UK Singles Chart number ones of the 1990s, UK number one hit with the 1992 single "Stay (Shakespears Sister song), Stay". Sara Elizabeth Dallin (born 17 December 1961) is an English singer/songwriter and a founding member of the pop group Bananarama. The group has achieved 28 UK top-50 and 11 US top-100 singles, including a US number one with "Venus" (1986). Originally written for Annie Lennox, "Everytime It Rains" is the fourth single released from Swedish band Ace of Base's album ''Flowers'' in the UK, featured on a re-release of the album. The song was written by Rick Nowels, Billy Steinberg and Maria Vidal. The single peaked at number 22 in the UK in April 1999. It was also remixed for American audiences and promotionally released as a lead single for their ''Greatest Hits'' record in April 2000. The single was not released commercially in the United States. Background Clive Davis of Arista Records, who had suggested the band cover "Don't Turn Around" for '' The Sign'', requested for Malin Berggren to record Everytime It Rains for Cruel Summer, as she had no solo songs on the album.
