Jon Santacana Maiztegui (born 1 November 1980) is a Spanish B2 classified visually impaired para-alpine skier. His sighted ski guide is Miguel Galindo Garces. Santacana has competed at the IPC Alpine Skiing World Championships, in the European Cup and the IPC Alpine Skiing World Cup, and Spanish national competitions. He represented Spain at the 2002 Winter Paralympics, 2006 Winter Paralympics and 2010 Winter Paralympics, earning a gold medal and a pair of silver medals at the 2010 Games. Personal Santacana was born on 1 November 1980 in San Sebestian, Guipúzcoa, in the Basque region of Spain. , he lives in Getxo, Vizcaya, Spain and is an INEF student. Jaime Lissavetzky Díez (born 27 September 1951) is a Spanish chemist and politician. Secretary of State for Sport (2004–2011) and regional minister of Education of the Government of the Community of Madrid. He was member of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th terms of the Assembly of Madrid, as well as member of the 8th Congress of Deputies and city councillor in the Ayuntamiento of Madrid. Early life Lissavetzky was born on 27 September 1951 in Madrid. He is son of a Ukrainian father based in Spain and a Spanish mother. He has a PhD in Chemistry from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM). He became a member of the Spanish Socialist Worker's Party (PSOE) in 1974. The 2002 Winter Paralympics, the eighth Paralympic Winter Games, were held in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States, from March 7 to 16, 2002. A total of 416 athletes from 36 nations participated. They were the first Winter Paralympics in the American continent. These were the first Paralympic Winter Games for Andorra, Chile, China, Croatia, Greece, and Hungary. IPC Alpine Skiing World Cup
The World Para Alpine Skiing World Cup (previously called the IPC Alpine Skiing World Cup) is an annual circuit of elite disabled alpine skiing competitions, regulated by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and the International Ski Federation (FIS). Held at ski areas across Europe, North America, and East Asia, the World Cup consists of timed races in five disciplines: slalom, giant slalom, super G, downhill, and super combined. Medals are awarded to the top three men's and women's finishers in each of the three disability categories: standing, sitting, and visually impaired. IPC Alpine Skiing World Championships
The World Para Alpine Skiing Championships, known before the 2017 edition as the IPC Alpine Skiing World Championships, along with the Winter Paralympic Games, are the most prestigious level of international competition in Paralympic alpine skiing. First held in 1974, the World Championships have been held every four years (even-numbered non-Paralympic years) from 1982 to 2004; beginning in 2009, they have been held every other year, in odd-numbered years.
