Jon Briggs
Jon Briggs (born 24 January 1965) is an English television, radio presenter and narrator. He is best known for his voice-over work, and particularly as the British voice used by Apple Inc.'s Siri virtual assistant software. Career Briggs's voiceover credits include appearing as the voiceover statistician in over 1,800 episodes of the BBC TV quiz show ''The Weakest Link'' (2000–2012, 2017) and as continuity announcer for BBC Radio 2 (1996–2009) and Channel 4 (1988–1990). Briggs was the first presenter on air when QVC launched in the UK in 1993. Briggs also provided the narration for the start of the drum and bass song "Blood Sugar" by Pendulum. Briggs's radio credits include the breakfast show ''Oxford AM'' for BBC Radio Oxford (1985–1987), the breakfast show ''Morning Edition'' for BBC Radio 5 (1990–1992), '' Night Ride'' for BBC Radio 2 and ''The Weekend Wireless Show'' for LBC (1998–2003). Jeremy Guy Vine (born 17 May 1965) is an English television and radio personality, presenter, broadcaster and journalist. He is best known as the host of his BBC Radio 2 lunchtime programme which presents news, views, interviews with live guests and popular music, taking over from long time host Sir Jimmy Young in 2003. Speech synthesis is the artificial production of human speech. A computer system used for this purpose is called a speech synthesizer, and can be implemented in software or hardware products. ''Pointless'' is a British television quiz show produced by Banijay subsidiary Remarkable Television for the BBC. It is hosted by Alexander Armstrong. In each episode four teams of two contestants attempt to find correct but obscure answers to four rounds of general knowledge questions with the winning team eligible to compete for the show's cash jackpot. All questions used on the show are factual in nature and are asked of a panel of 100 individuals in a pre-conducted public survey. A correct answer scores one point for each survey subject who gave it and the objective is to achieve as low a score as possible. "Pointless" answers are correct responses that were not given by anyone surveyed, score zero points and are the most desirable. Breakaway (radio Programme)
''Breakaway'' was BBC Radio's second regular consumer travel programme, the first being the short-lived "Away From It All", both run by producer Roger MacDonald. It was launched on 29 September 1979, when it ran from 9.05 to 9.50 on BBC Radio 4, where it continued to be broadcast live every Saturday morning in roughly the same time slot for almost two decades.
