Joint Task Force 2 (JTF2) is a Canadian special operations unit mandated with protecting Canadian national interests, combating terrorism threats both domestic and abroad, and hostage rescue. JTF2 serves under Canadian Special Operations Forces Command of the Canadian Armed Forces and is typically compared to American Delta Force and SEAL Team Six, and the British Special Air Service and Special Boat Service. Michael Norman Rouleau (born July 4, 1967) is a retired Canadian Armed Forces, Canadian Forces officer who served as a Lieutenant-general (Canada), lieutenant-general in the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command. The Special Boat Service (SBS) is the special forces unit of the United Kingdom's Royal Navy.
