Joint Intelligence Group
The Joint Intelligence Group (JIG) is the national intelligence community of Antigua and Barbuda. It was established by a memorandum of understanding to streamline the sharing of intelligence through various agencies responsible for the national security of Antigua and Barbuda. Member organisations include various intelligence agencies, law enforcement agencies, and other national security stakeholders. Interagency cooperation The primary intelligence agency of Antigua and Barbuda is the Intelligence Centre, part of the Service and Support Unit of the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force. In 2016, the force made eleven intelligence requests, and the Coast Guard has participated in various anti-drug operations. The Financial Intelligence Unit of the ONDCP is responsible for gathering intelligence on white-collar organised crime and disseminating it through the JIG. The coat of arms of Antigua and Barbuda was designed in 1966 by Gordon Christopher. It was officially introduced on 16 February 1967. The symbolism of the arms is more complex than that found on the Flag of Antigua and Barbuda, flag of Antigua and Barbuda, but many elements are similar. At the top of the coat of arms is a Antigua Black Pineapple, pineapple, a fruit for which the islands are famous. There are several plants found around the shield, all abundant in the country: red hibiscus, sugarcane, and Agave americana, century plant (''Agave americana''). Supporting the shield is a pair of deer representing the wildlife of the islands. The design on the shield shows the sun, also found on the flag, rising from a blue and white sea. The Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) is a component of the Executive Office of the President of the United States. The director of the ONDCP, colloquially known as the drug czar, heads the office. "Drug czar" was a term first used in the media by Richard Nixon in 1971.
