Johny ML (born 21 March 1969) is an Indian culture critic, art curator and writer based in New Delhi. Biography He has three post-graduate degrees from the Goldsmiths College, University of London, MS University, Baroda, and the University of Kerala. He has contributed as an Editor / Writer to several online and print magazines, including the Stance Magazine, Art Tehelka, Matters of Art, Narada News Malayalam and Cart on Art. He was the chief curator of the first edition of United Art Fair, 2012. He also has curated several shows. Vakkom
Vakkom is a area of Trivandrum Metropolitan Area near Kadakkavoor in Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala, India. It is 35 km north of Thiruvananthapuram, the state capital. Kerala
Kerala ( ; ) is a state on the Malabar Coast of India. Kerala Lalithakala Academy for Fine Arts is an autonomous body which was established in 1962 to promote art and artistic heritage, based at Thrissur in Kerala. Murali Cheeroth is the newly appointed chairman of Kerala Lalitha Kala Akademi on 2022 January. Though the Government of Kerala provides funding and support for the academy, the administration of the academy is designed to be autonomous by its constitution. ''The New Indian Express'' is an Indian English-language broadsheet daily newspaper published by the Chennai-based Express Publications. It was founded in 1932 as ''The Indian Express'', under the ownership of Chennai-based P. Varadarajulu Naidu. Ramkinkar Baij ( bn, রামকিঙ্কর বেইজ) (25 May 1906 – 2 August 1980) was an Indian sculptor and painter, one of the pioneers of modern Indian sculpture and a key figure of Contextual Modernism. Early life and career Baij was born in an economically modest family in the Bankura district of the modern state of West Bengal in India. In that sense, he was a Bengali, not an Adivasi, as many people usually think. The surname Baij derived from Boidda (Baidya) and Boijo consequently. His family surname was Poramanik and was abandoned by him in early 1925. However, many of his artistic creations have been inspired by the lifestyles of rural dalit or Adivasi ( Santhal) communities living in and around his place of work Santiniketan.
