Johnny Robinson (footballer)
John Robinson (18 April 1936 – June 2019) was an English professional association football, footballer who played as a Midfielder#Winger, winger. Career Born in Chorley, Robinson originally played for Leyland Motors F.C., Leyland Motors before signing for Bury F.C., Bury in 1954. Deployed as an outside right, he scored 21 goals in a total of 127 appearances for the club before joining Oldham Athletic A.F.C., Oldham Athletic in 1961. Robinson died in early June 2019, at the age of 83. Chorley
Chorley is a town and the administrative centre of the wider Borough of Chorley in Lancashire, England, north of Wigan, south west of Blackburn, north west of Bolton, south of Preston and north west of Manchester. The town's wealth came principally from the cotton industry. In the 1970s, the skyline was dominated by factory chimneys, but most have now been demolished: remnants of the industrial past include Morrisons chimney and other mill buildings, and the streets of terraced houses for mill workers. Oldham is a town in Greater Manchester, England. It lies amongst the Pennines on elevated ground between the rivers Irk and Medlock, southeast of Rochdale, and northeast of Manchester. It is the administrative centre of the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham, which had a population of 242,003 in 2021. Within the boundaries of the historic county of Lancashire, and with little early history to speak of, Oldham rose to prominence in the 19th century as an international centre of textile manufacture.
