Johnny Key (sprinter)
Johnny Key (born 18 October 2003) is a Samoan sprinter who specializes in the 100 and 200 metres. He is the current champion in the men's 100 m and 200 m for Samoa. He has also represented Samoa in the 2022 Pacific Mini Games and the 2022 Commonwealth Games. At the 2022 Pacific Mini Games in Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands he won bronze in the 100 metres, silver in the 4 × 100 metres relay, and bronze in the 4 × 400 metres relay. 2022 Commonwealth Games
The 2022 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XXII Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Birmingham 2022, was an international multi-sport event for members of the Commonwealth of Nations that took place in Birmingham, England between 28 July and 8 August 2022. Birmingham was announced as host on 21 December 2017. The 4 × 400 metres relay or long relay is an athletics track event in which teams consist of four runners who each complete 400 metres or one lap. It is traditionally the final event of a track meet. 4 × 100 Metres Relay
The 4 × 100 metres relay or sprint relay is an athletics track event run in lanes over one lap of the track with four runners completing 100 metres each. The first runners must begin in the same stagger as for the individual 400 m race. Each runner carries a relay baton. Before 2018, the baton had to be passed within a 20 m changeover box, preceded by a 10-metre acceleration zone. With a rule change effective November 1, 2017, that zone was modified to include the acceleration zone as part of the passing zone, making the entire zone 30 metres in length. The outgoing runner cannot touch the baton until it has entered the zone, and the incoming runner cannot touch it after it has left the zone. 2022 Pacific Mini Games
The 2022 Pacific Mini Games was held in Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands. It was the eleventh edition of the Pacific Mini Games and the first to be hosted by the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands. This event was originally going to be held in 2021, but was postponed to 2022 due to COVID-19 pandemic. Host selection The Northern Mariana Islands were awarded the rights to host the games on July 4, 2014 during the Pacific Games Councils General Assembly meeting in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. The decision was unanimous after the CNMI were the only bidder after the deadline.
